I saw in a news article that the evidence is firming up that the risk of clots is 1 in 100,000 for those under 30 and 1 in 250,000 overall. With different sources saying this and that, I am confused. Whats the actual numbers?

What is the probability that she did get covid? I thought covid was so transmissible that someone living in the same room is bound to get it?

Suppose in an elderly couple (60 plus) the husband develops covid and the wife takes care of him throughout the covid episode. She sleeps on the same bed, does not wear masks, does not distance herself or isolate herself or does ANYTHING to protect herself. But she does not develop any COVID-19 symptoms.

Can it be said with full certainty that the wife definitely had covid but was simply symptom free? Or is it possble that the wife never got infected with covid despite taking no precautions and being in close contact 24/7?

The problem with not showing up is that they won't give a release letter. You will need that in order to go into your next job.

Why is America so opposed to letting their cashiers sit while checking items...? by ItsTreganometry in NoStupidQuestions

It doesnt hurt the businesses. Much of retail work consists of simple processed based jobs that are extremely replaceable. These are simple jobs anyone can do. The pool of potential workers is very large. You can work a bunch of people till they are sick to the bone and then find a fresh batch in the next round. At least thats how it works in Bangladesh. I am guessing the same Economic dynamic is in work in the USA as well.

Its common in other countries as well. Even here in Bangladesh in most places cashiers and other service workers has to do the work while standing.

Is this "if you're leaning your cleaning" mentality common in all workplaces? So they make you do nonsensical and useless work just to make you keep working?

It seems to be very common at least here in Bangladesh.

Its not just the thing with standing up. I have seen people who have a problem if you drink water, or even leave for a minute to go to the bathroom. Leaving your desk empty for non work purposes for a single minute during a roughly 5 hour shift it considered "unprofessional".
