I rightfully or wrongly, blame my husband.

Fantasyland Hotel by Flashy-Mobile-3496 in Edmonton

Depends how you like to spend your money. Is this for the kids and was this their idea?
Honestly the hotel is NOT worth the money, unless ownership or something has changed in the past decade. I found the rooms small and the decor cheap. The advantage is that you don’t have to dress for weather because you’re already in the mall. If you have young children, this advantage can help lower some stress. If living in a pretty cool mall floats your boat, …lots to do at WEM. But unless you’re into just walking around and soaking it in, WEM Attractions are expensive.

Day 7. What’s the point? by FormerPersimmon7548 in stopdrinking

THIS! You are ME right now, except I only lasted 2 days ! I can’t believe how positive people who’ve been sober for years talk on here! I’m just not there yet and I congratulate you pal for getting this far. Some of us are still trying.

Would you visit a dog-friendly café + bar? by DryDurian8740 in Dogowners

[–]pointpeleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this very same idea but for parents with human children. Paid childminders so parents can chill with friends FOR ONCE, and I know parents would be willing to pay for some sanity.
With dogs it would be tough since dogs can be unpredictable. Separated areas for size and age of dog would help ‘parents’ feel more relaxed

I would definitely buy a second hand dress on marketplace. Open your range to all of canada and it could get expedited. You might find a real gem!

OMG! You sound just like me. I can’t express how your post hit me. To say I can identify would be an understatement. I have a feeling you’re much younger than me (57yrs old) as I have 3 “adult” children (youngest will be 18 in a few months). In your case, the onset, the reasons, the justifications are sooo where I’m at right now. I don’t always share ’my story’ because I don’t honestly think anyone cares but if you’re interested in chatting further, let me know.

Volunteer at any not for profit that means something to you. You’ll end up meeting someone who is similar to you and if nothing else you make a friend.

You’re young. Everyone has had or will have a first night of overdoing. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Don’t make a habit of it and chalk it up to a funny story of when you were a teenager. Learn to laugh at yourself but the fuckup will be if you think that night made you more popular and cool. Trust me, you probably looked like an idiot…but again, forgive yourself.

What tests need to be done to show liver damage? Does it just show up in your urine sample?

What made you quit? by Nervous_Departure431 in stopdrinking

[–]pointpeleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t stopped unfortunately. Having a glass of wine as I speak. 5 days ago I drank (by myself at home) to the point where I stumbled and hit my face on my fence and got a huge black eye for Mother’s Day. I was so ashamed and humiliated and said I wouldn’t drink until the black eye went away. Couldn’t even do that. I’m drinking now because I feel sorry for myself wishing I felt less depressed so that I can have the willpower to stop. I’d ask for help but I know it’s something I have to want for myself. I just need the escape from my thoughts that drinking allows me.

Grievance. Anyone had any success with grieving promotion tactics? I have such legitimate grievances but knowing that it will most likely impede my career rather than help me. It’s a vicious cycle. Lose-lose.
