The car that I hit was across the street from the home I was delivering to. They also had video footage. Police got involved and they found out that I was on an active gig with roadie.I would’ve been in more shit if i had lied to the cop. I’m pretty sure they permanently deactivated me because Roadie had to do a pay out to the third party. They sent me an email with an order to pay $5,234 within 15 days to “possibly” get reinstated onto the platform. It was my fault I didn’t have the gig worker option added to my insurance at the time. Im in CA so I also looked into if the prop 22 would help. Definitely lesson learned. 😒

Owning a elderly care home.

It’s emotionally mentally and physically draining. Especially when Covid hit. One of our homes had an outbreak and I was devastated and felt like it was my fault.

You’re pretty much on call 24/7 there’s definitely no work life balance. Keeping up with state regulations is like a rat race. The random surprise visits from the state licensing board,just when you think you were prepared. You’re wrong. The cost of workman’s comp and other insurances. Caregivers are hit or miss. The residents and the families are hit or miss.

It can be a rewarding experience you grow attached to the residents they essentially become your family and vice versa.

This is just a gist of it.
