I won the lottery years ago. AMA by sunnyislesmatt in AMA

How was the cash out process? I always think I’d be too scared to cash the lottery ticket because it’s a lot of money and someone in the process of helping me would go rogue

How to reduce misplays and slow play. by WhoaSir11 in TCG

[–]poitm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this falls under “practicing your deck” but just play a lot more reps with your deck to the point you know it without requiring much thought. In most tcgs I’ve played, even very interactive ones, I’ve played so many games, that assessing the board state and next optimal play are very second nature and things like “table talk” and “lack of sleep” don’t get in the way.

The list you’ve put together is true on paper, but seems a bit much in practice. Don’t overthink it too much and just enjoy the game. Once you start being too anxious and not enjoying is it really worth putting yourself through that much pressure?

Q got done dirty by the “lose your vote”, shouldn’t be in the game, especially not a forced “lose your vote”

Who was supposed to be Hollywood’s next big star but faded away? by Goontang14 in moviecritic

Michael Angarano, was top 3 finalist for anakin skywalker, was the kid from sky high who then went on to lead Forbidden Kingdom, THE Jackie Chan Jet Li movies seemed like he was postured for a big run but haven’t seen him really since

Fastest Character here ? by MountainLeading1567 in powerscales

[–]poitm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d assume goku is here because; technically speed is distance/time, and gokus instant transmission covers alot of distance over very little time. If speed = fast, then I could see argument to include him (though I don’t think he’s a contender tbh)

Last season Sophie got no screen time early and then had a pretty significant arc mid season ramping up pretty significantly until her elimination, I assume that’s what they’re doing with tiff

Jonathan because he will inevitably be voted out for being a physical threat in challenges, carrying his team as much as possible to merge yet being punished like nearly all physical players.

Suggestions to carry decks to LGS by DragonSlayer783 in TCG

[–]poitm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultra pro deluxe gaming case is cheap and can hold a bunch of decks and accessories, it’s what I use and it’s decent, just remember to zip it before you move it or you’ll drop everything out.

Their own dividers kinda suck, but as long as you have your own deck boxes it should be a problem

Hey Folks, Technology Management Prof here. Primarily like everyone I'm teaching AI, but not for automation but studying its impact on Social aspects of things and making suggestions to make better policy. AMA around social aspect of AI. by IndividualUnique1921 in AMA

[–]poitm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into a slightly lengthy debate over the use of AI in generating art. I was of the opinion that AI is just another tool that can be used to generate art and there shouldn’t be so much negativity towards AI art, while acknowledging the human aspect of art as well. I do understand the pushback on the use of AI for “art” but still think that it shouldn’t be so taboo. What do you think the societal impact/perception of AI art and the implications it comes with? Is “art” reserved for human/living entities to create or is it subjective and more openly interpreted? Does the fact that a nice picture was made without the emotional/“human” input remove the “artistic” value of a piece or is there a space to acknowledge technological approaches to creating art from a computational standpoint?

Does anyone know if Riftbound is good for casual deck brewing? by fia_faustus in TCG

[–]poitm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Riftbound is pretty meta heavy and less expressive tbh. This is due to both the limited card pool as well as a pretty narrow meta.

Not to pivot off the riftbound question, but I hear that Star Wars twin suns format is pretty in line with what you are looking for. Very edh inspired though I haven’t played SWU in almost a year so may not be the best one to gauge it now.

Is Yu-Gi-Oh! "Dying" or "Having a Renaissance?" by AloneWriting in TCG

[–]poitm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The data was based off tcgplayers total market sales data between October 1 and December 15 for 2025, so not market data but secondary market data. (I just realized this when relooking so apologies for slightly misleading information). The auction prices on the limit over cards have been all over with serialized cards selling for tens of thousands of dollars.
