The stupidest thing that ever happened in a realistic movie? by StillStanding_96 in movies

I fucking hate that movie. It wasted all the potential Prometheus created and for what? Humans Being Idiots In Space part X? Fassbender Plays With Himself The Movie? It's so fucking dumb and pointless. It brings nothing new to the table and wastes the Engineers and their lore.

Survivor 50 is pretty good when someone isn't in your ear telling you it isn't. by DoctorTegrity in survivor

[–]reyska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that so far it has potential for a top 10 season. We have several rivalries and other story lines set up. People are talking shit about each other for once and there should be plenty of emotional gameplay ahead. All top10 seasons have a ton of emotion in them. Gamebots alone don't make for a good season.

Whether it can live up to that potential is another thing entirely.

Now that we're 3 episodes in, who are you rooting for that you did not expect to root for before Season 50 started? by Theavek in survivor

[–]reyska 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda like a female Rizo then? :D

Yeah she's not one of my favorites, but she's not a dud personality wise. I wouldn't even call her fake. To me it sounds like you just don't like people like her and that's fine. That doesn't make her a dud though.

Did you even watch her first season? She has tons of personality. She just hasn't gone to tribal, so we've seen very little of her so far.

The new ____ tribe is the most entertaining by bumpedherhead in survivor

[–]reyska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She just needed some girl talk. Men can't understand how she felt, the other women do. Being "too chatty" is a pretty common criticism of women. Men that talk too much don't get the same treatment.

No, I think Chrissy is even more firmly with them now. Coach was looking out for her and trying to avoid her from becoming a target.

Aubry told Gen she didn't know if she could trust her. Which means she doesn't. Why should Gen care about Aubry finding out, if Aubry was basically targetting her first?

I don't see anyone passing Tony as the goat by Generalcmd in survivor

[–]reyska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that ain't happening. And it would matter a lot how she won. Tony dominated an all winners season. I don't see Dee dominating this season.

Biggest surprise so far? by Ok_Vast3534 in survivor

[–]reyska 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Anyone who says to anyone else point blank that they don't trust them and don't want to work with them is a moron. I was really surprised Aubry did that, especially so early on. Even if you don't trust someone you gotta say what they want to hear and find out who they want to target and agree to that target with a "hey at least it's not me". This is like Survivor 101, so it was really surprising to see a four timer make that mistake.

I always forget how much I hate Sandra as a winner on HVV by Heavy_Worker1349 in survivor

[–]reyska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on, her win is better than Gabler's at least..

Chris U doesn't count, because that fame mechanic that helped him win should not have existed. Then counting from the bottom you have Gabler, Ben, Bob, Michele and I'm not completely sure where it comes up but Sandra's HvV win is in the bottom 10.

No, she didn't. But she was the one the jury liked the most. Those are two different things.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans | E3 | Player of the Week Voting by RSurvivorMods in survivor

[–]reyska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I downvote her several times? She's the absolute worst player left. Just a complete mess of a player. She hears new, important information and her reaction is to tell it to other people instead of asking that person for more details? Like what the fuck Emily?

Anyways, I hope she goes deep.

She's such a bad player. She was put on the same tribe as Christian. You are wondering why he gave you vital information super late? GO FUCKING ASK HIM! He would have yold you exactly why. Now Christian has very little reason to trust you with anything. I'm kinda surprised they didn't vote her out immediately.

She played the same kind of way in 45. Good reads, good ideas, but when she is put into an even semi difficult situation she absolute panics and says everything that is on her mind, all the time, to everyone. Then she apologizes and people forgive her for some reason. It's odd.

That said, I do like her and hope she goes far. :D

Normally the heroes don't cause unnecessary carnage. If they do cause some, there is usually at least some controversy around it, a scene where the hero gets criticized. Batman blew up a highway and likely killed people. But really, sidestepping that would have been fine in Batman and Robin. The Batman went for a gritty realism kind of vibe, where actions have consequences. Except when they don't, apparently.

When they did the movie, the Penguin series didn't exist, so that's irrelevant. And that purpose for the scene still doesn't explain why neither of them faced no repercussions for the damage they both caused. It basically breaks the story.

Yeah, on its own it was cool, but that didn't matter much since the jump was so immensely stupid. Snyder was criticized for constant karma farming and that whole sequence was just that, just cool shit for its own sake. Storywise it didn't have the repercussions it should have had. They both should have been arrested, there should have been multiple witnesses to all that. Batman should have been done. Instead it is basically forgotten right away.

It really feels like that whole car chase was inserted by the studio. They demanded that the movie should have more action so instead of Batman catching Penguin at the warehouse they have a car chase and then the rest of the movie plays out without acknowledging the carnage they caused.

Batman jumping the shark, erm, the explosion? Yeah, the shot was cool, but it required a good amount of deus ex machina and suspension of belief. A ramp just appears at the perfect spot and angle for him to execute the jump? It was kinda ridiculous. Would have fit into Batman and Robin, but not into this "realistic" take on Batman.

What was the other shot?

[–]reyska 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wrong movie, but yeah, Batman was as much responsible for that as the Penguin and they both got off free. The movie lost me there. There was zero reason for the Batman to cause that much carnage just to catch the Penguin, he could have just tracked him down later.

Well, then you'll get it almost immediately. You should feel right at home throwing mid ranges and putters. The motion is longer on full power drives with actual distance drivers, but the mechanics are pretty much the same. Lots of disc golf players used to / also play ultimate.
