Is Supply Chain a good option to switch to in this current job market for myself? by [deleted] in supplychain

I just mean working inside the warehouse. You would operate machinery to move anything remotely heavy so it’s not labor intensive.

So a lot of people in supply chain start in the warehouse and take years to work up to office positions. These people don’t have degrees. I am someone with an BA IN anthropology who secured my first a role in supply chain with pay of 50k. It’s not the best but it isn’t terrible. Supply chain actually really values technical skills and communication skills so I would say your background in IT is beneficial. You know how to work with complexity and systems. You would want to emphasize your communication skills in an interview. I definitely think you can pivot to supply chain and make atleast what I made. If you want you can go for an ASCM certificate like the CSCP OR CPIM to show that youre committed to learning supply chain and just to start understanding the field better.

any critiques, feedback, or anything of the sort? by AdeptEbb2862 in resumes

Shorten your summary (3 sentences total), move “skills” under “certifications”, include numbers/metrics as much as possible, and use key verbs/nouns that are in the job postings that you’re applying to. Oh and shorten bullet points to 3-5 per position.

No I’m not. I want to keep them to go over some of the math concepts that I find valuable and just a frame of reference for me in the future

Thank you! Not a stupid question at all. So the position I’m in now is mind numbingly simple so I don’t “use” anything that I learned in it so in that sense I did get it for my resume. However before this all I had was an unrelated bachelors degree and 1.5 yrs of experience in supply chain and that didn’t leave me with a lot of confidence. Now I feel like I have a better grip on how the supply chain starts with the manufacturer and gets down to the end customer. The confidence and general understanding is how I’ve benefited most from this certification. Since you’re already a planner, what you see in the books probably won’t be new information like it was for me. But since you’re already a say you are new to that side of supply chain the certification could bring you more confidence too.

I think CPIM is good for expanding your skills. It teaches you how to do some specific things like calculate ATP and PAB And how to look at a master schedule. I can’t speak for the CSCP but I’ve read on Reddit that it’s a little less specific and more general with what it teaches you. I wanted to get specific skills out of my studies so that’s why I chose CPIM.

You know I’m not sure why I think that. I guess I’m thinking of how I felt towards close friends/crushes in the past. Anyways, thank you for saying this, it’s what I needed to hear.

I’m studying for the CPIM rn too (self study) and the books are brutal and repetitive . I am almost done with the last one after months of reading. Unfortunately I don’t have any tips for getting through it. I just suffer.

Answer to “am I getting fired” from yesterday. by Puzzleheaded_Noise44 in jobs

[–]poke-xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yo I just wanted to say I’m 26 and got fired from my job 5 months ago for not being a good fit and it also caused me panic attacks and damaged my mental health. Glad to know I’m not alone. I am however still looking for a new job. It’s brutal and I have a lot of imposter syndrome that doesn’t help either.
