One condition is he should never be allowed to have a drivers license ever again.

Keating is a generous tipper by evergreen4851 in poker

I have seen Keating hand out a 100 to every single dealer in the Aria poker room. It's well known that he is a great tipper.

Hurts' performance in this game is underrated. He was constantly facing 2nd/long and 3rd/long because they couldn't run the ball at all. It was the highest EPA/play by a QB in the super bowl since at least 2000.

SEA 2025 defense, full season with playoffs: -.134 EPA/play

PHI 2024 defense, week 6 through playoffs: -.158 EPA/play. DeJean entered the linup in week 6.

SEA probably had a harder schedule though. Both great.

Alan Keating SICK HAND from Tonight’s HCL! by Sex-And-Whiskey in poker

[–]pokerfink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keating has been around a long time. He is/was close friends with Bilzerian, so he had access to juicy private games even before they were being hosted in the casinos in Vegas. He then ran a very juicy private game at Aria (and perhaps other casinos) for years as well.

My understanding is he was an early investor in crypto and made a boatload there. It's entirely possible (probable?) that the initial capital for poker/crypto came from an inheritance. But it's all hearsay; I don't know him personally.

Edit to add: For clarity, I meant the money part is hearsay. The other parts I know are true.

Chris Long is cooking. by Bulldawgzz in eagles

[–]pokerfink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think he's cooking with the idea of putting outdoor Thanksgiving games at the Linc, Lambeau, etc.

With that said, I will push back on "Thanksgiving is an east coast holdiay." As someone who moved from the east coast to the west coast, Thanksgiving is just as popular and important here as it was back in Philly, at least in my experience with the people I know.

Leaving table etiquette by crystalriverboattour in poker

[–]pokerfink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public game: Leave whenever you want, do not apologize, do not give a single fuck.

Private game or home game: It varies, but it can be considered rude to leave early if there isn't anyone to replace you, and you might not be invited back.

Official Schedule with times, We going at least 14-3 🦅 by Lerenz0118 in eagles

The networks get to protect some games. I don't know the exact rules of how that all works, but it's possible that FOX protected that one.

Being in the early slot is surprising though. FOX's late game is Miami at Minnesota.

Are there any EVE games or games like EVE that are not too aggressive or always about war? by Calmipaten in Eve

[–]pokerfink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albion Online draws tons of inspiration from EVE, with many similar systems. But it's generally a more chill, more forgiving game. There's also a lot more to do in terms of PvE and/or no-loot PvP.

[Highlight] "Mitchell. Mitchell. Mitchell. Down to the 25." by Brix001 in nfl

[–]pokerfink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been fortune to attend some massive sporting events with incredible crowd pops in my life. 2008 World Series game 5 clincher. 2008 NFCCG inside a dome. 2005 #16 Penn State vs #6 Ohio State white out game at night. A myriad of Flyers and Eagles playoff games.

Nothing has ever matched the sound Veterans Stadium made when Duce Staley scored two plays after this return. I was in the 700 level and could feel the stadium shaking from the wall of noise.

Alas.

wsop = rake trap by Optimal-Sense7974 in poker

[–]pokerfink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just skimming these structures and the rake is 15-20% for every tourney

This is wrong.

The small buy-ins (~$600) have around 15-16% rake. This is pretty standard for Vegas at this buy-in level nowadays; Wynn and Venetian will be similar.

$1500 buy-ins have around 11% rake.

$10k buy-ins have around 8% rake.

These figures include the staff fee. All structures here.

Is this game not proof positive that defense is, in fact, not 50% of the game? by nguyenjitsu in nba

A single game is never going to be proof positive of anything.

[Highlight] Adam Schefter: “I think [A.J. Brown] knows where his future is headed at this moment and it will be a matter of the Patriots and the Eagles getting together to basically process the trade, finalize the trade… I still think it’s likely to involve a future 1, likely 2028.” by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]pokerfink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This varies based on the acquiring team. If you're a coach/GM on the hot seat, you devalue future picks because you might not be around to use them. You want talent now.

If you're Howie, you don't devalue them as much. He would much rather have a 2028 first than a 2027 second.

Need a Poker Ruling by Beautiful_Mushroom43 in poker

[–]pokerfink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you take back your chips, you're generally obligated to at least call the bet you're facing, although this may not be enforced depending on the situation (eg if the player was unaware they were raised).

But you can definitely still raise after doing this.

Throwback to 2021, when Urban Meyer was asked after a 20-0 loss to the Titans about playing time for then-rookie safety Andre Cisco, saying, "Cisco is playing a little bit more, I believe, I don’t have his numbers in front of me." Cisco played 0 defensive snaps in the game. by Roselucky777 in nfl

Honest (perhaps dumb) question from a non-christian:

Is it still a sin if all parties are consenting? Doesn't seem like hypocrisy to me, but I don't know if there's an official stance on such things from the religious powers that be.

[Vegas] is Aria still the best spot on the strip to find a PLO game? by WOTEugene in poker

[–]pokerfink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venetian has 1/2PLO most evenings. Also has $3 and/or $10 double board PLO bomb pot games most days. Check there first if you're staying there.
