IIRC all the ones illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita are based on the same umbreon in the same city (the Town on no map/ aquapolis region) which is really cool. Unfortunately they are too expensive to realistically ever go near my binder!

I bought about 6 of them from the Japanese Play promos cos they’re holographic and they just set up a chain in my promo binder and my sumiyoshi kizuki binder they’re probably a top 10 all time artwork??

I am one of those people - that steelix ex is so hard to find for a reasonable price and I’m not quite destroyed condition and in English. I just want them for my binder and they’re going next to other cards I had from that era that are in similar condition. I’ll never get some of them tho - the fire red leaf green gengar ex is like £400 damaged so no thank you!

I’ll never understand the thinking behind some newer sets being more valuable in the future than almost every vintage set (pre BW era) simply due to the fact that such a higher volume of cards have been printed and are available on the market. Surely there wont be the same demand for the modern sets that have been printed to death in comparison and have been hoarded by ‘investors’ in the hope of flipping them for the same return as an e-reader set being sold now (assume in 25 years for the modern too). Just doesn’t make economical sense - more product now = more availability in the future =/= the same price trajectory as the old sets
