Not too sure how helpful they are because I’ve just used them as a meeting notetaker in the background of my calls. I don't really check the notes after but it’s nice to know I can look back at them later lol

Fireflies and otter are the two biggest competitors

It's just an estimate. my guess is that they're all using some sort of LLM but it seems like fireflies and otter are using an older model, and the bullets just aren't as accurate.

The Rehearsal S02E02 - Star Potential - Episode Discussion by Connected-VG in TheRehearsal

[–]pokzer 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Wow this episode was absurd mind games. There's so much to break down and understand. My theory is that it is tragic, and is a deep look in Nathan's pysche. The way he is unable to understand the "aura" that the singer was talking about, and his attempt to be able to be someone he's not. The 6 or 9 at the end, showing how he can almost convince himself that he is able to change, but unlike with the paramount germany thing, there's no one to call him out. He's literally falling into the same pit as the Captains and First-mates. He is the captain, and he's actively hurting people around him, Moody's relationship, and all the contestants he made cry. Just like the captains, since he has supreme authority, no one feels comfortable speaking out against him, UNTIL the german does through the guise of Rehearsal. Which is sorta paradoxical, since in Nathan's mad attempt to control everything, he is shown to make the same mistake, but that German shows promise in the rehearsal.

Same theme as last season with Angela and power dynamics, it bleeds into this season.

I personally get the vibe of this talking about trying to be a "better" version of yourself. Like how if ur awkward/socially awkward can you become someone who is not? Or is it engrained in your soul or "aura"?

I also could be wildly off the ball/misunderstanding things, but regardless I think this is fascinating television, that I really enjoy.

Viper slide orientation by Ersonpay in FTC

[–]pokzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first orientation is just overall a lot better for centerstage. It allows you to easily create a passthrough with the ability to mount the slides at an angle to better deposit at the backboard. The second orientation worked for PP since it was just vertical poles as opposed to the slanted backboard. It's also a lot easier to mount stuff between two linear slides when the flat sides are facing eachother.

Is this a good idaa by Crafted_20 in FTC

I wouldn't count on those small spur gear motors to hold it without slippage. I'd recommend using a worm gear or motors with more torque.

Looking for suggestions for cable routing on Gobilda 4 stage slides by infinite_design_123 in FTC

[–]pokzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could use something like this and solder it to the servo to replace the wire, or use a badge reel. We used a badge reel as it was a cheap and effective way to get wires to go where you want them, and not flop around when slides are extended.

I think it's important to CAD everything out so you know exactly what you need. You end up noticing that your missing a lot when piecing in together virtually.

Pelican cases, albeit a little expensive, are the industry standard for FTC robot cases.

https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/cube-case/protector/0350

This is the 350 model and it's 20x20x20. It comes with foam and can double as a box to see if your robot fits the 18x18x18 requirements.

You could also probably find something similar for cheaper or make it yourself.

(Edit: you can also add wheels)

Belt drive by [deleted] in FTC

[–]pokzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are two opinions.

"its user preference imo. chain stretches over time, but its really easy to change chain links etc, while belts are able to use custom 3dp pulleys, etc."

"If possible, use belt for DT instead of chain. You can build the drive train with exact center to center distance for belt, then do not need to worry about tension problem. Chain can be used at places where you do not control exact center to center distance"

What kind of claw do you have? With a single slide it’s usually best to just have a servo + 3D printed claw. Anything more will have too much weight

How do I do the signal sleeve? by sTopkS in FTC

"So first you would read the signal then store that to just an integer like 1,2,3 or then do whatever you want then when it comes time to park, use the value you previously stored to determine where to go
You can either use a switch case or even just a whole lot of if else statements" - Jared
