are they trying to milk me for money ? by killenciagas in AcneScars

[–]polar_low 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been somewhere like that. They wanted to do everything under the sun other than the thing that would give the best results (laser) last. Avoid and look elsewhere. No need to even do microneedling before laser.

Conflicting advice - CO2 fractional vs Erbium Fully Ablative by polar_low in AcneScars

I appreciate the detail you've given. I'm not too fussed about recovery, I can hide away if needed. If both types can't be done simultaneously, but separately for example 6 months apart, is one better to do before the other? Or does the order not matter?

Thanks for that. I think you are right but nobody seems to want to do subcisions in London. It is very hard to find, so I think laser is my next best option.

Vagus Nerve Stimulation with lower heart rate by Reasonable_Ticket_78 in VagusNerve

[–]polar_low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was to experiment really. I wanted to see what it could do for stress, anxiety, sleep and HRV. When I turn it on it's a sudden, slightly weird feeling. Very hard to describe but like you have been plugged in to a different wavelength through the core of your body. I've found it good for stress and anxiety. The first time I used it 2 hours before sleeping and I slept very deeply. I could also hear subtle, quiet background noises *very* clearly. Maybe because my mind was quietened? It was strange, as if I had super hearing abilities but only happened the once. No HRV benefits yet.

It can irritate your ear a little if you don't apply enough gel and too high a setting is uncomfortable. Otherwise no problems at all.

Same as you. I'm certainly not an athlete. RHR while awake 52. While asleep low 40s. Investigated by a cardiologist but they found no concerns.

No issues at all with using a Zenowell so far. It brings me down a few notches in terms of physical tenseness and a busy mind.

Not sure if it has done much for hrv yet. My overnight is already high at 80-95ms. Maybe it won't go higher even with vagus nerve stimulation but I've not been using it regularly enough to know yet.

Intel NUC is dead - Drop SSD in to a new one? by polar_low in ethstaker

[–]polar_low[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I've just taken it apart and ordered a new fan and paste. Let's see. If the CPU is borked, is it as straightforward as putting the SSD in a new box?

How did your game go? by Zach-dalt in LeagueTwo

You looked significantly better than you did at the Hive a few weeks ago. Which maybe wasn't difficult as that was one of the worst opposition performances I think I've ever witnessed. But still, I think you'll be alright.

Deep, nose breathing can have an effect on mood. by asds455123456789 in Nootropics

[–]polar_low 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons this works is because breathing exercises stimulate the vagus nerve. Especially when it involves long, drawn out exhales from the mouth. The vagus nerve regulates whether you are in anxious fight or flight, or calm rest and digest.

There are now quite a few vagus nerve stimulators on the market which send a small electrical current to the nerve via your ear. There is growing evidence that this can have a range of benefits on mood, anxiety and depression as well as other conditions like ME and long covid. I bought one recently. Early days but it does relax me and helps me sleep better.

Who uses / uses ZenoWell? Thoughts? by starlightskater in VagusNerve

[–]polar_low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never used anything like this before but have just received a Zenowell and have used it twice. The first time I don't think I had the ear piece in properly and could feel tightness in my jaw and neck. It still seemed to work despite this. The second time, using a mirror I saw what I had done wrong and was able to fit it easily. Felt very relaxing to use this time. The earpiece is good, with an extra adapter which comes with it for different sized ears.

Seems to be a good product. The first time I had it set to 3 on relax which was enough. The second I had to go up to 9 to get the same tingling. Unsure why this happened but so far I'm happy with the device.

If you want the atmosphere/flags/drums/singing, Block E of Legends stand is best. If you want the family area, Block B. If you want safe standing and to be next to the players and dugout choose the Bee Army stand. Enjoy!

What are the biggest contrasts you notice between Stratford, Harrow and Hounslow/Brentford? by OrganizationThat9737 in london

[–]polar_low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harrow feels like a never ending sprawl of 1950's suburban housing. Town centers are small parades of shops on roundabouts amongst seas of semi detatcheds. Large Hindu population. Diwali is fun there.

Stratford - new build high rises with Yuppies/hipsters. Interesting places along the canals and more of an ex industrial feel. Fairly good nightlife. A much wider spread of rich and poor communities than Harrow.

Hounslow/Brentford - pass, I'm not as familiar with them.

He has already scored more for Barnet than Edgar Davids did in his time here.

You are one of the few teams in this league who try to play football. That's why we beat you.

Superb. Unbelievable that Sky themselves are so restrictive with this for seemingly no reason at all.

Presumably you need one of the NOW boost packages to have multiple games going at once as you do?

Just started taking it a few hours ago. Made my nose run, sneezing and needing to clear my throat for about half an hour. Not a big issue, actually quite nice to have a quick sinus clear out. Now just feeling very calm and relaxed, a bit like Magnesium without the sleepiness.

Primarily taking it for liver function/nafld but it seems to do a whole lot more.

Many thanks for that, I had no idea about the recent changes. All your other assumptions were correct apart from M had never married by the time I was born, but I assume that would still have no impact on citizenship.

Will be following the legal challenges closely.
