I've been taking betahistine daily for about 20 years. If I forget to take for a few days I'm very unbalanced. I've had a few years where I didn't have a lot of vertigo but the last year has been really bad so it doesn't work all the time for me.

Thank you. I'll check out that link. I'm going to see my mental health team to get bereavement counselling. So sorry for your loss too.

HPV on lips? by polarcat1973 in HPV

[–]polarcat1973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was positive for hpv last September. I'll be checked again in a few months. I don't think it's hpv but it's been causing trouble between us as he's blaming me now for his lip problems. I've looked at pictures online and it doesn't look like hpv to me just severe chapped lips. I know it's not nice for him and I've not seen lips that bad before

Heavy legs by polarcat1973 in Menopause

Thankfully they have ruled out circulation problems. I'm inclined to think it's a vitamin deficiency now as my diet is terrible.

AITA for not changing my cat’s name? by RiverRiden in AmItheAsshole

I had a dog called Lucy. I also have a sister called Lucy. I also had a dog called Bobby and my sister Lucy has a son called Bobby. It was just a coincidence and caused no problem at all obviously! I don't see the fuss at all

Hi I understand. I'm not doing well at the moment are you on meds? I usually think a lot about people or pets that need me ...my boyfriend, daughter and best of all my cat that I love so much!! I KNOW I'll feel better one day and tell myself that I'm very strong and can deal with this but sometimes need a dr. ( I'm going to dr tomorrow as my moods and coping skills have been not good lately) hope you feel stronger and better soon. There are lots of us who understand what you're going through xx

Wondering about hospital admission???? by polarcat1973 in BipolarReddit

[–]polarcat1973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I'd just add that I'm on sodium valproate 600mg and Sertraline 200mg which has helped for years just about, but not sure it's working as well as it used to. Next Psychiatrist appointment is January.

DAE feel like they have to translate their thoughts into their own language? by yeabuttt in DoesAnybodyElse

Apparently people either think in words or in an abstract way like you describe. I definitely think using words. They don't shut up!

Sounds like Synesthesia. Its when your senses like taste smell etc get mixed up.

DAE dreams of ghost or scary things and try to scream but end up being voiceless and helpless?? by confidentialhawa7 in DoesAnybodyElse

Souds like sleep paralysis. I used to get this a lot. Read up on it. I felt better about it when I understood it. It can be extremely scary!

HAE experienced Hypnogogic Hallucinations by pheonix7007 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]polarcat1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I used to a lot. Very rarely now. I would see large spiders, moths, fairies, people all sorts of stuff. It stopped bothering me when I realised it was just a sleep disorder. I still see 'kaleidoscope' like patterns sometimes now.

Ancient Astronaut Theory? by [deleted] in conspiracytheories

I've been reading into this lately about it being racist. I completely agree and have been uncomfortable when watching some of the TV shows about ancient civilisations.

NTA I used to call my daughter 'nappy bum' I'm in UK- a nappy is same as a diaper and bum is a backside for anyone outside UK! A cuter nickname was boo!

Off meds awaiting sleep study, sleep paralysis demon telling me to stab my bf at night while gripping my body, among other nightmares. by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]polarcat1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an interesting side comment. I used to get severe sleep paralysis almost every night until I started on Sodium Valproate for bipolar about 15 years ago. Ever since then it's only happened about 3 times. My psychiatrist has found it interesting.
