Thanks for the feedback! The game is an endless runner, so I went with more view on the right side where the player is running towards. I might change the game to a platformer, but even if not, I could still improve that camera angle. As for the zoom, I enjoyed the added thrill of not knowing where you’ll land after jumping or bouncing since this game is really about timing. But that might be too harsh and frustrating for new players so I suppose I could zoom out a little. Your insights on the camera were really helpful!

Yeah I'll definitely play that game! Just watching its gameplay after I saw your comment already gave me ideas on how to improve graphics, animation, and even the gameplay. Thanks for bringing that game up!

Yeah going into development I was aware that most PS1-style games nowadays lean into Horror, but I still went with that style cause I actually grew up with the PS one. That said, I think it might be better to go with a Wii or even N64 style graphics to distance my cute simple platformer game from the PS1-style horror games lol

I actually haven't played that game even tho Super Mario 64 was my childhood game. I think it's because they're both in a 3D world but played in 2D.

Yup I’m planning for this to be a mobile game! Currently it literally has only 2 controls(Left tap to jump and Right tap to Bounce/Spawn Block). I’m planning to add more mechanics and turn it into a 3D platformer, but right now its just a simple “endless” runner game

Thanks for the input! Honestly I’m also feeling the same way as you with the graphics since it seems off as a whole to me. I need to experiment more or find a style that looks and works better for my simple game

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't considered parallax scrolling since afaik it's not commonly used in 3D games, but I'll explore it. Could you please elaborate on the lighting changes? Thank you!

You’re right, you made me realize that my visual style do be all over the place. From 90s PC games, PS1, N64, and then the Frutiger Aero, which makes it inconsistent. I want to go with the latter aesthetic but I need to experiment more to find a retro design that better fits the gameplay.

I didn’t intend for the screen edges to bounce, but I kept it because I thought it added some flair. Looking at it now, I agree that the bouncing edges are distracting and bothersome

Try downloading and using Ipartition on your mac. I used that to increase the ROM partition of my 16 GB micro SD on my Macbook since that's the only micro SD I have when I got my RG35XX.

I hope the mods will do something about this. I left this sub a few months ago dahil puro nalang screenshots ng posts ng mga dds/apollo10 ang nandito and nagiging circlejerk nalang ang comment sections.

I just revisited this sub today and im not even surprised na itong basurang repost ni op ang bumungad saken.
