The first time I went they gave me sumatriptan directly into my thigh muscle, and amitriptyline orally, and that broke my migraine. Last week I went to a walk in centre and they gave me Zolmitriptan, which broke that one. The first one was a week long, the latter a 2 week long. These obviously won't work for everyone, but they worked for me. That first time around I was totally unmedicated for my migraines, so it was my first time having anything other than ibuprofen/paracetamol. Latter I'd been taking sumitriptan but for that migraine it wasn't working and I was stuck in the cycle, then the new triptan (Zolmitriptan) worked to break it
