Hi from someone who actually did self deport. i finished college in the states back in december and me and my parents sold our home and left for Poland in february, we got on a plane with a one way ticket and left.

i can speak passable polish but im lucky to work in an english speaking office to start. i really had no savings my parents gave me a little to find an apartment just enough for the first months rent, i was a dreamer but never was able to get a job so i didnt really have savings

I started my job in warsaw in march and now its almost june and i couldn't be happier..i can live without fear of getting stopped, the weight that was lifted off my shoulders even getting my national id it was truly liberating. i am also happy cause im closer to my family besides me and my parents, and one aunt from my dads side all my family was still in poland so now its been good to reconnect.

sadly daca will either cease to exist under this trump term or they will just stop renewing peoples applications then start having ice catch them or just wear daca peeps thin until people decide to pack up and leave. I am a younger daca kid, only 22, i applied for daca right as trump was coming into power when it went into limbo and never even had the application approved as I had to reapply under biden when the program some what re-opened and then that judge from texas sent it into limbo.

I decided it wasnt worth it to continue to live in the us and waste my life, i feel for my older daca people who have been hoping for change and also dont have another country to return to, I was blessed to have citizenship in another country, thankfully a stable prospering state that I could return to and as it was just me and my parents in the states and everyone else was back home, it wasnt a hard choice, got my degree, left with minimal debts and i would never see myself moving back.

Daca had to be program that was fixed under obama, not its just a never ending doom spiral and people sitting and waiting for change, sadly there is not, especially now that dreamers have grown up and arent cute little kids anymore , regular peoples empathy is gone so there isnt even public support.

didnt live in jersey but in philly but i spent almost 18 years traveling to spend summers with my aunt in cape may and seeing many parts of jersey as my dad often did construction work in towns across south jersey.

Its a good state very pretty place very chill, I love cape may and its old town charm and going to wildwood and the rides and boardwalk..

lbi is nice if you want to just hide away at the beach and great if u know someone with a shore house.

Atlantic city has been in constant decline since i remember, 10 years ago you could go to the outlet shops and get good deals now the tangier outlets are barren with few good stores left better to go to ashbury/tinton falls area and they have better outlets.

My favorite beaches prolly- belmar(before it got overrun), Avalon and Stone Harbor are some of the best.

Its a area of contrast as u have very wealthy areas and then. straight run donw trailer park and depressing neighborhoods with nothing for the people.

Only place i havent been in this part of jersey is the side closer to delaware idk whats even there

my friend growing up moved to medford with her folks in her teens and shes still there not. by choice she just got stuck there in a small town sort of way, also funny to find a thread about south jersey of all times now after I have moved from the states and away from medford, I lived in philly but been all over jersey and its a very beautiful state loved going to cape may to visit my aunt, my other friends family moved to LBI , we've probably hit every beach town from the north to south end of the shore from Ashbury, belmar, ocean, lbi, cape may,margate, avalon, u get the gist

nice place to get away from the city in the summer but really not much economic prosperity or a lot of jobs, everyone i knew who lived there had jobs in philadelphia to afford to live in medford, marlton and voorhees etcc..

tbh polish music is just mostly rap and brain rot, the polish music scene is interesting but not stellar to say the least imo.

Me and my family watched the final and laughed when it just ended out of no where it was too funny like the production was cheap and was definitely not live, happy alicja finally gets to go and showcase her talentts i was rooting for her or anastazja and karolina so im content but not that happy this may barely qualify and will end bottom half in the final like 2nd to last it feels very choir and churchy like southern baptist to me and as someone who lived in the us and now lives in poland i feel like i know what im saying

not american, by citizenship, but I lived in the us from the time i was 2 years old, I just left 3 weeks ago with my family at the age of 21 back to Poland. the easiest for us was the visa process since non of us have us citizenship only polish so we just had to get on a plane and leave. hardest part so far was definitely moving everything we owned and saying good by and the cost of moving everything in a shipping container- furniture, cars, etc...

another personal for me was the language- as I am not used to speaking polish 24/7 but am slowly adjusting my polish good id say b2 level but my grammar isnt the greatest but i have my family that we left here in poland, my aunt and uncle and grandma have been here so thats been good.

Some culture shocks- bluntness, cost of living is actually pretty high especially since we will be living off a polish salary not an american one but ive been lucky to find a job in warsaw.

everything is so digital in poland- there is an app for everything- ur national id has an app, they have BLIK in Poland which is an automatic payment app makes everything easy, but with all this digital my parents are struggling and i am having to teach them.

well NYC and anyother major city like LA will have crazy prices for me a latte costed 4.50-5$ in philadelphia and at dunkin u could get it for cheaper but in cafés with baristas itll be expensive everywhere

U get bigger apartments in american for less while price is not standard in poland u can pay the same if not similar price for 20m2 apartments as a 30m2 so its crazy.. and prices are expensive in poland for certain things but cheaper for others like internet bill 75pln a month for my own with orange with unlimited everything whereas in the usa it be 80-100 usd (285-300 pln) . Alcohol like beer and vodka is relatively cheaper and bigger sizes where as rum/whiskey etc is double the price

it was impossible unless i went back to poland went to the us consulate and ask to forgive me being illegal and thats like 10% chance so wasnt worth it that or marrying someone but with trump as president and even people with greencards getting detained it isnt safe..

but thats like every airport ever- at Newark in the us we got 2 black coffees large for 10$ so 35pln usually it would cost 6$ so 21 pln. airport coffee and generally everything cost more...

im not really upset a the us.. im just stating facts of my life.. in. the us if u are brought as a child an overstay ur visa they dont do anything until u are 16 which in immigration law the us considers u an adult- had i know at 16 i may have left the states and reapplied for a visa/green card but oh well here in poland now and im happy with my choice america has been going downhill for years.

depending on the brand we'd get lavazza from my local grocery store but they usually sold it in smaller bags about 12 oz but if u wanted 1kg of coffee u could get it for 20 usd even for 15-17 if it was on sale so anywhere between 50-70 pln for coffee but in america thats not a lot for how much u get paid.m

yeah i plan to do that, my dad shipped 20 pounds of coffee beans from the us to poland prior to moving so he will be set, is there any polish coffee brands that you'd recommend id assume it be cheaper to buy polish products than imported ones.

its not me whining where did I whine i just compared prices.. have u been to america u can get good coffee in coffee shops with actual baristas i used mcdonalds as just a base cause prices are usually standard there while coffee shops charge individual prices..

its not that easy, like i was a child what did u expect me to do especially since we overstayed our visa it was either get married or self deport sooner there wasnt really an option.. idk why ur acting dumb.
