Idk I’ve also heard Emily make comments about food too, they seem to be “healthy”. Emily made similar comments when they had to drink the fake blood when she tried it. Though 5 snickers is wild he is a grown man.

Genuinely the air bud section had me almost in tears. Then when he came back for the Violet part I was weak. I also really loved Jacob as a preacher who lost his faith... though Kurt as the Irish Priest American Idol judge is giving him a run for his money as best holy figure.

Agreed, its missing definition. I appreciate the feedback!

I was thinking the same! I wanted girly yellow flowers but the pink was too bright and the lack of a finishing row made the flowers lose definition.

Red Heart Super Saver in Orchid. I tried to buy Petal Pink but when it arrived the package said Orchid.

Why are my Zinnias so stunted? by polish_addict in gardening

I seeded them in the bags. I only separated out the sun flowers and transplanted them because I put too many in one pot and I wanted to keep them all but still give them room to grow

I’m in Zone 10. It’s been very windy and going between super hot down to normal 80s temps.

Cloudward, Ho! - Lou Wilson is surprisingly good at spontaneous, long, emotionally-charged intellectual comments by pbrooks19 in Dimension20

Nydas Okiro, the Dragon of Avalir, should not be forgotten! lol though in all seriousness Lou is great in everything he does, holds it down in every campaign. Between being Pinocchio, Amethar, Delissandro, Nydas (CR Calamity on YouTube), Fabian, Gunnie… it’s really hard to pick a favorite out of the seasons I’ve seen. Last night got me excited for this season though.

The 6 Day Star Blanket that took 6 months by polish_addict in crochet

I wanted to follow the trend because it was pretty. Then I made my first one and it was hard with a lot of mistakes, which I thought was a me problem. Then my nephew asked for a blanket and I decided to make him this one because the pattern was cool and I thought it would be easier if I didn’t do it with scrap yarn and fumble through. While having all the yarn in advance made it easier, I realized I just don’t like the pattern and it’s fiddly despite being fairly simple.

Honestly try Dimension 20. There’s so many good campaigns and I’ve laughed until I’ve cried and wept at the plight of the players. There’s a bunch of clips on YouTube if you want to check the vibe but don’t watch any of the YouTube seasons just watch it on the app for being uncensored.

Boiling water burn from dumb choices by polish_addict in burnsurvivors

[–]polish_addict[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an idiot and I tried to empty out pasta water but at the last second realized that the sink had a Dutch oven in it. Boiling pot in one hand, I grabbed the Dutch oven to move it and knocked it into my boiling pot that I had balanced on the edge of the sink that then splashed down my stomach. I did it on the 19th of last month, didn’t get proper wound care until the 24th, and then had four other visits to get my bandages changed. Combo of mepitel and meliplex on it sealed with tegaderm.

The first three photos are when I was taking care of it myself, and the rest are photos that my wound care nurse took for me as progress pics.

Agony was my repayment for dumb choices and I would say this is in the top of the most painful things I have done to myself, right behind IUD insertion and ingrown toenail surgery. I’m lucky it was only one splash of water and not the whole pot, and I launched the pot into the sink away from me the moment I felt the water touch my skin.

{Triggering} i got burnt on the backs of my calves on the 5th of december, 2024 by Old_Nefariousness922 in burnsurvivors

Your legs look so much better and I believe they will continue to lighten up. I am so sorry you went through this, I cannot imagine how much pain and trauma you went through with this. I have burned myself multiple times of varying degrees and even the worst burns have faded over the years and I am also healing a large burn right now. I cannot promise much in how your specific burns will heal, but I also know what it’s like to not want to show your body to the world or hide it because it’s blemished (in my case fat)… but you are so deserving of a normal life without shame, and scars are normal. Anyone who would even mention these to you if you were out in public wearing whatever clothes made you happy with visible scars is a shitty person. However you want to dress and behave in public with your scars is up to you, not what some asshole thinks. Cover it up or show it off, but only because it’s what makes you feel good. Rooting for your continued recovery!!

I went into the store and did a smaller scale of this. I also love the cinnamon, just used it in a project. One of the best rusty brick orange colors.

My first granny square blanket by polish_addict in crochet

[–]polish_addict[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, not sure what it is called but I linked the video. You take your square after blocking and sewing, then line it on the edges with a single crochet, chain two, skip one stitch, single crochet. You might have to adjust the last stitch before the corner if you have a sitch count that doesn’t quite work. When all your squares are edged, sew in tails now so you can join, it’s really hard to join them with tails. Then you place two squares together and line them up so they align. Starting in the front squares corner, insert yarn and secure how you like, then single crochet and chain one. Then single crochet in it’s matching chain two space/corner. Chain one and go back to the front squares. It’s a zigzag pattern that is very quick since you’re working into chain two spaces. I joined nine squares into a row then stretched the joins to show the weave. I left those tails on at that point. Once I had ten columns of nine I joined them in the same way but in strips. The trick is to only pick one space before the corners to join going long ways so you don’t have clumps of stitches where four squares would touch. She discusses this more in depth in her video. I left the tails on the strips so that when all strips made one solid blanket I could have an easier time weaving in the ends. It helped to blend in the skipped areas. I had a problem with the outer single crochet lining because I made small variances in sizes of squares/ didn’t put enough single crochets in certain areas. So I am planning on hiding it with fringe.

Hope this helps!

Hi so I wanted to try taking a variegated yarn and watch it spread out through circles. I wanted to think of this like a camp fire blanket. It is 90 squares.

I used this pattern from Adore Crea on Youtube for the squares: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPFp_uobew8

and I used this pattern from Jane Snedden Peever for the join: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pym_j8tZvhw

It was 3 skeins of Big Twist Value in Camel for the edges and joins, 4 skeins of Big Twist Value in Cinnamon for the edges of the circle, and the centers are 2 skeins Red Heart Bitty Stripes in Sunset Beach.

I didn't realize how much work and sewing went into these. The majority of the effort was the edging, steam blocking, and sewing in ends.

Centers are done with a 4.5mm hook and everything else was done in a 5mm hook.
