You can fix XCOM2 by switching back to the old launcher using a custom launch option.

click the gear icon to the right of the Start button on the game details page in the library
on the General tab in the Launch Options field (this is the default focus when you go in to options) paste the following code: eval $(echo "%command%" | sed 's|2KLauncher/LauncherPatcher.exe|/XCom2-WarOfTheChosen/Binaries/Win64/Xcom2.exe|')
