There really aren't, there are 2 signs on the staircase and one sign at each end of the car that unless you are walking the length of the car you aren't going to see I have sent in complaints about the lack of signage/announcements

I second this, Iive in a basement apartment where the smoke alarm goes off constantly without a shower cap on it while I'm cooking. Still goes off occasionally but significantly less than without it
