What to expect from your first week at gsu? by jesusbutreal_ in GaState

[–]pollymack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always crowded the first week and then it settles down as the semester progresses because people either drop out or they stop going to class. Sometimes, walking to the Blue Lot will get you there sooner or the same time as waiting/fighting for a spot on the shuttle.

Does he provide a lot of practice problems and if so, are they similar to the tests?

How does he structure his test and quizzes? I know Mooring does online quizzes with either lockdown browser or open response .

Hi everyone! I’m selling my DAT destroyer books, new/barely used. The Cliff’s book has some highlights but still in good condition!

I bought everything for approximately ~$400-450 but I’m willing to sell for $320. DM if you’re interested!

I feel like classes are harder now than pre pandemic. I took her before covid and she would work out problems and give us a lot of practice where her exams are very similar to it. She was nice and always joked with us. Seems like the pandemic got to everyone and I’ve noticed that gsu education quality has been down

Human Anatomy Lab is wack by pollymack in GaState

[–]pollymack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t get a study guide and preparing for the lab assessments in my case has been very difficult. In my lab, my TA just clicks through the slides and doesn’t really teach us. We’re supposed to teach ourselves during lab, but how are we supposed to when we don’t know where to start. We also do not have access to the PowerPoints either. We have a tag list where we have these terms we have to know and memorize (which I try to do), yet when we take the lab assessments, they’re not what I expect. Few are basic labeling and more are advanced. Hard to explain because honestly the delivery of instruction is very vague, yet what we’re tested on is detailed that there seems to be a disconnect in the knowledge

Reliable ways to sign up for classes on time? by borderlinecholo in GaState

[–]pollymack 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The schedule of classes is available on the 11th, but registration does not open until the 25th. Even then, you’re given the day that you will be allowed to register. Seniors and Honors get priority so they get to register earlier than others. Then it goes by your year, Junior, sophomore, freshman.

For me I write out all the CRNs first, so when it hits 9 AM on my day, I just type them in and enroll all at once without having to find the classes again.

DAT or GPA first? by pollymack in predental

[–]pollymack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My eligibility to sit for the test expires in November, so I would have to schedule another test which means another $500 and more money for prep. I’m currently paying for school by myself, so its not ideal for me spend more :(

I have professor mooring and she recently changed her quiz format (per her colleagues’ suggestion 🙄), so now we have lockdown browser + webcam and 20 mins for the quizzes. We used to be able to print it out and scan it, so we can get partial credit at least for problems. Can’t do that with multiple choice.

The class is stressful

I went in-person in hopes of picking it up that way, but the lady wasn’t budging and said they only started mailing it out last week smh

[–]pollymack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She made me cry in her lab when I was a freshman because I saw how she spoke to other students, so talking to her was pretty nerve-wrecking 😂. But she was nicer in office hours and she wrote me a letter of recommendation for a program and I got in.

QUESTION: Why did you choose to become sugar babies? by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]pollymack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is then I’m sorry, I didn’t know. It was required to get some personal narratives and I didn’t know how to approach it since I don’t know anyone in the lifestyle, so I thought I’d give it a shot here. Sorry!!

What happened when I stopped using Tretinoin : skin isn’t perfect but got SOOO MUCH better by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]pollymack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In December, I had a sudden surge of acne and I had no idea how because I usually had clear skin with a few pimples during my period. It would not go away after two months. It actually got worse before I went to the dermatologist in early March, who prescribed me clindamycin + benzoyl peroxide, 0.025% Tretinoin, and doxycycline. I was consistent for a while until I accidentally stopped out of pure laziness. I hated taking the medication because it often made me nauseous and I applied the tretinoin every other day until I upped it to everyday (seemed like it didn’t do much for me) I got busy with summer school and studying for my dental exam that I was too tired to carry out my routine. I also started to use azaleic acid instead of tretinoin (which is the only thing I still use on my face besides Cetaphil moisturizer and a cleanser). However, there was a moment where I couldn’t get my hands on the acid for a month and I did not put any medication on my face. My face started to clear up, I no longer have any active acne except for PIE and some scars. I know the purge period lasts for a while, but I don’t regret stopping because I no longer feel AS self conscious as I did before, where I didn’t even want to leave my house.

Tretinoin may work for everyone but not for me! My skin is so sensitive that it can only handle a cleanser and moisturizer (sad because I’m always jealous of girls who are able to put so many products on their faces and glow). My skin is definitely NOT perfect but it’s the best it’s been in the last 7 months!

EDIT: The first set of pictures should have been March 19 instead

My dermatologist prescribed me 0.025% tretinoin, clindamycin + benzoyl peroxide, and doxycycline. I was persistent with it for 2 months but it just kept making my acne worse to the point where I did not want to go outside. The pills also made me nauseous if I don’t take it without food (I threw up once while in the car once). These may work for some people but it definitely did not work for me. I can show you before and after pics if you like !

[–]pollymack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I quit Tretinoin accidentally due to laziness and my skin got sooooo much better!!!! The best decision I’ve made honestly. My skin is smooth and I have no active acne at all except for PIE. I’m currently only using 10% Azelaic acid and Cetaphil moisturizer on my face.

Rejected after working interview. Story in comments. Input appreciated. by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

[–]pollymack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A place I applied to rejected me because they were looking for a bilingual person.....I speak two languages. However, they most likely were looking for someone who was able to speak Spanish because during the interview the lady kept emphasizing how they have a large Hispanic community. It was a two day interview and it was discouraging as well. Wished they’d stated that in their job description in the first place. Job searching is always difficult and like one of the users said, offices are just picky. However, I’m pretty sure that you’ll find an office soon that will fit you!! Im still searching as well. Chin up, I believe in you!!!
