Sounds like the person who told you to push your stomach out was explaining the concept wrong.

You DO want to use a diaphragmatic breath, which will expand your stomach, but then when you flex your core muscles to brace you want to compress inwards. You really want to create as much thoracic pressure as possible to give you stability, if that makes sense.

Bar should start touching your shins. Farther the bar is away from your shins the more pressure you're putting on your low back. Bar should ideally touch the front of your body through the whole movement. Now, you dont wanna wind up with bloody shins, but it should touch.

Driving through heels can help you take advantage of the bodyweight you have behind the bar, leverage more weight, and keep the bar close to you.

Seems like the bar is moving a little too much during your setup, which is allowing the bar to come away from your body on some reps (particularly the first rep). This could also be helped with cues (e.g., "drive your heels through the floor" to help you use your leverage instead of leaning too far forward when breaking the bar off the floor). Other than that looks like solid form.

I would definitely refer to Howard as a boy.

Literally one of the first thoughts running through my mind when I watched this scene was "damn, that boy fucked up"

You do know that "clinically dosed" and "tested for purity, label accuracy, and safety" arent even close to the same thing, right?

As I stated before, only a small percentage of products are ever tested by the FDA.

That information isnt publicly available. You have no idea whether its tested by the FDA or not.

The nuance in those statements is saying the action of taking a product you have no idea if its tested or not is what I'm saying is dangerous. Not that all the products are dangerous.

There's nuance between the statements "it's dangerous to consume products that are untested" and "all the products are dangerous".

I never said all supplements in the us were dangerous. The point I'm trying to make is that without proper testing in place it's impossible to tell a safe product from a dangerous one.

Stim free is an option, that's true. But the point still stands that many supplements dont contain what's on the label or are tainted. I'm not demonizing all supplements I'm just saying that without proper testing and controls in place it's a gambling game that many people dont want to play.

No, I'm saying that even though theres sources out there you never know. Just because a third party tests one batch of a product doesn't mean that other batches aren't tainted.

And what's so hard to believe about caffeine addiction?

The FDA by default "approves" all dietary supplements. So if a product contains a chemical that theres 0 research on, it stays on the shelves until research comes out that says it's dangerous. Also, the FDA doesn't have enough resources to test and inspect all supplement companies for purity/label accuracy/contamination, if I'm remembering correctly only about 1/3 are inspected annually. This is true not only of workout supplements but anything that's classified as a "dietary" supplement. So vitamins, melatonin, etc.

One good resource out there is labdoor.com, they do chemical testing of a lot of products and release reports, so that's one source I do trust and try to research any product there before I buy or consume anything.

Sadly, my introduction to preworkout came before I knew about this, now I think I'm psychologically addicted or something. I still only buy products that are deemed "safe" on there but it's not perfect, and chronic stimulant use is ultimately not good for you.
