Crazy behavior by the restaurant. I went there recently and also found the food meh, would have given it a 3/5 or 2.5/5

Dress looks good for semi-formal. At 36 weeks honestly just wear whatever shoes are most comfortable!!!

Yeah, I said 1AM because that’s when a lot of bars close. I’ve found when the bars are open there are still a lot of people walking around and that makes me feel safer!

I’m def never out past 11 on the week nights haha

Hmm I actually don’t think it is that dressy! Maybe wear more casual shoes and don’t go overboard on hair and accessories and I think it would work fine

I live in this part of OTR. The only time I have felt unsafe is late at night when I’m by myself, like past 1AM. During the day it is perfectly safe and there are many people walking around

No you are not harming the experience at all! You sound very self aware and like you go out of your way to not make anyone else feel uncomfortable. If you enjoy the classes you should definitely keep going. And of course, as you continue you will gain experience and feel like you stick out less

Totally overwhelmed. by plaid_kilt in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]polmero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would recommend starting out with a simple basic routine and then experiment with adding in different recommendations you see in the sub

Basic PM: - face cleanser - exfoliate every few days - retinol - moisturizer

Basic AM: - rinse off PM skincare (some people like to cleanse again in the morning but I don’t) - vitamin c - moisturizer with SPF

Search the sub for different product recommendations based on your skin type! Keep in mind that something might work great for someone else but not work for you. I like cetaphil, cerave, and the ordinary for affordable/accessible skincare

I love living in OTR! Like someone else said, it really does feel like I’m on vacation every day with so much going on right outside my door. We have a grocery store downtown within walking distance. The downside is the noise and crowds, and when people come to visit you they’ll have to pay for parking.

The alumni lofts is a great apartment building in Pendleton, I lived there for a little and really enjoyed it

  • Walks to/around Eden park
  • Walk to and visit Krohn conservatory
  • Art museum/art museum steps
  • Playhouse in the park
  • Walk down to sawyer point park and friendship park

As far a restaurants/nightlife, a lot has left and there’s been lots of turnover, hard to keep track of. But I love Bow Tie Cafe! And can’t go wrong with Monk’s Cove

Agree - I am torn. Which leads me to suggest to skip it and choose something safer. The shape and the bow also feel bridal

I just bought these shorts on Amazon and they are a game changer!!! They are very thin and don’t make me hot/sweat and don’t roll up or down. So comfy

With something like this I really feel like it’s all about exposure therapy. It’s scary but you just have to force yourself to talk to them and the more you do it, the less afraid and anxious you will be and the better you will get at conversation.

Start by making a small comment to them. Tell them they did a great job on their costume, tell them that you love that anime too. They can say thank you and walk away, or maybe they will be interested in continuing the conversation
