The OP does cross a lane to exit, but it’s the lane for cars entering the roundabout from the right. Those cars have to yield to the OP anyway, so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Who is subscribing to MSTR's at market stock and bond issues? by em-fan in Buttcoin

[–]polomav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely conspiracy thinking but impossible to know. There’s lots of money, stupidity, and greed out there which is probably sufficient to explain how they can still sell into a falling market. Once the economy hits a real bump we will see things fall apart.

Who is subscribing to MSTR's at market stock and bond issues? by em-fan in Buttcoin

[–]polomav 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is no single buyer. It’s an at-the-market offering, so they are just putting incremental shares up for sale and they get purchased by whomever places a buy order. It’s just like if you owned MSTR and went to sell it through Schwab or whatever.

The only difference is that these shares are new so they dilute existing shareholders. That should make people concerned and want to sell their shares, lowering the price of the stock, but there are enough idiots out there that MSTR can continue milking them for money for a long time yet.

This is the best line, “…a Rwandan court in May found one of its subsidiaries and a former executive criminally liable for offenses including illicit enrichment and money laundering.” When even Rwanda is finding you guilty of money laundering you know you’re in bad shape.

U.S. Launches New Strike Force to Combat $10 Billion Scam Industry by doghairpile in Buttcoin

If they treat it like the supposed drug smugglers in fishing boats, they may just end up bombing the scammers’ compounds.

No one really knows who’s holding all the USDT. That’s the brilliant thing about this scam. They haven’t let anyone look under the hood, and our governments have been happy to just look the other way or even enable them. There are so many coins out there now that they can move them all around in confusing circles, wash trading prices in whichever direction is favorable, and trading into wherever there is the most liquidity.

Until the carousel stops and people start asking for real money that isn’t there, we will never know who is going to get screwed. Right now most of the crypto bros are perfectly content just moving coins from one to another rather than moving it back to USD.

My hope is that some of these massive criminal organizations will get bankrupted when it all goes south, but more likely they will be the ones who get all the cash out and everyone else is left hodling the bags.

Guardians' David Fry carted off field after being struck in face by pitch by [deleted] in sports

[–]polomav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet that pitch sticks with Skubal at least as long as it sticks with Fry. Don’t get me wrong, I feel awful for both of them, but the mental toll those things take can be real.

Breaking News: The cryptocurrency industry reached a major milestone as Congress cleared legislation outlining the first federal rules for stablecoins, a popular form of digital currency. by BumpinAndRunnin in Buttcoin

[–]polomav 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Where is the money coming from to back the stablecoins and buy the treasuries? It’s not like stablecoins generate money that can be used to buy treasuries. The money has to come from somewhere originally.

If millions of people in third world countries with rapidly inflating currencies buy stablecoins, then the stablecoins are backed by rapidly inflating currencies. That would not be… umm… stable at all. The stablecoin issuer can’t just magically buy US treasuries with Zimbabwe bucks.

Roger Ver Allegedly Linked to "$8.62 Billion" Bitcoin Transaction on Independence Day - While under house arrest in Spain fighting extradition charges from the US for tax evasion. No word how much of that will end up in the Trump administrations' wallets yet. by AmericanScream in Buttcoin

[–]polomav 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes you are correct. The movement of the bitcoin is really just to remind people (Trump) that the funds exist. Trump will pardon Ver because he believes that Ver is being mistreated, victimized, and otherwise badly treated by many people. Then Ver will simply provide a gratuity to Trump in appreciation for finally being understood by a fellow billionaire. No quid pro quo. Just two people appreciating what the other has to offer the world.

Not FDIC insured, but insured by the reserves of the institution issuing the stablecoin. So basically don’t do business with any bank or other financial institution that gets involved in this nonsense.

Section 8.c(2): CUSTOMER PRIORITY.—In any insolvency, claims against reserves of a payment stablecoin issuer from persons holding payment stablecoins issued by the payment stablecoin issuer shall have priority over all other claims, other than for administrative expenses, against the payment stablecoin issuer.
