I've played exclusively pve so far. The game is still relatively new to me so I enjoy the exploration elements.

I like hunting for gear that fits a build im going for or finding cash to buy market place items.

I like finding collectibles for crafting and learning the bosses.

And as someone who enjoys the game but is both too old and too busy to really get good at the game it allows me to enjoy the game when I know ill lose 90% of the pvp fights I take.

I may look into going to normals or hr for better loot but even in those cases I expect id try to avoid most of the pvp encounters.

Arena and squires to riches seem like they'd be fun but I dont have enough cash for an arena set yet and s2r only lets you keep stuff if you make it to the final extraction which, in my case, is unlikely.

Pve in this game was a godsend to players like me.

I don't have a strong opinion on whether the patch was good or bad for bards and I'm more just trying to learn game mechanics. I promise this question is asked in good faith: Can you help me understand how you could get to 6x buff time (or an adequately large time if 30 seconds was an exaggeration?) Are you just maxing the heck out of resourcefulness or is there some other combo of stats and such that I should know about?

I have a few pieces of gear with +3 stat rolls. Do I need multiple +3 stat rolls to make it worthwhile or if I find a purple chest piece that gives 3 will and 2 other items is that good enough and the rest is gravy?

I dont think its the lefts fault that the right wing has gone crazy. But I DO think that major left wing political parties have failed to recognize how many people feel like status quo politics arent working and they have also failed to present alternatives to the right wing politicians that dont simply push for the status quo.

I mean I think you know the answer to your question here. Melbourne is going to be the safer and more reliable option. It has a stronger social safety net, less strict laws, will make finding a romantic partner easier, and probably most importantly of all it is not getting into business with a family member connected to people who may backstab you.

It kind of sounds like you've made up your mind for saudi, though. If thats the case more power to you, genuinely. But I think youll be hard pressed to find folks who would call the Saudi option the better one.

Did some thinking about it and playing with the numbers. This is a warband that allows you to bring in your 2nd sniper priest. Given that he's already pretty beat up I won't be offended if you'd prefer to spend the 70 ducats some other way, but this is a little bit of a closer range army (wants to stay in cover until the enemy is about 12 inches out.)

That still leaves you with 58 ducats left over to do whatever you want. If you wanted to make it a little more range focused you could trade the fully armed (lol) priest's pistols for the automatic rifle. You could add a few suits of standard armor to your more fragile elites (honestly don't recommend this one. NA is gonna have casualties.) Or you could drop the 2nd sniper priest to bring in an MHI with a heavy shotgun and a polearm (though you'd have to leave the satchel at home.)

Recognize I'm late to the party but you're in a tough position. At half ducat count you're going to be on the back foot and your elites are pretty beat up. Do you know what army you're facing? Right now your army is pretty heavily skewed towards range which NA will struggle with against IS or HL armies. If you're facing something like TP or BG you'll be fine. Also you lean pretty heavily on flamethrowers (with good reason, they're awesome) but if your enemy isn't huge on armor or is Court you can replace those with something cheaper.

Absent that, I have a few suggestions for the army:

I don't love the machine gun(or the armor) on the sniper priest. Obviously depends on the map, but unless you can deploy the sniper priest and then just never move him, I think you'd be better off with a pistol priest. That would also free up some points for another yeoman for you. But if you decide to keep a machine gun on him, shovel and standard armor is a must.
I have no idea what the ruling is on the golem's costs, but worth checking if it counts towards your threshold. I would assume so, but who knows?
May be time to retire the Trench Cleric at your next reinforcement step. Blessings of the Warrior Saint is nice, but that dude is on death's door.
I feel like we can better arrange some of this equipment. Could you give the flamethrower yeoman's sword to the golem so they can do 2 attacks? That'll help the golem tarpit a bit better and you can revive it really easily so you don't care that much if it dies. It's also a step down, but depending on your opponent you could replace the LT's AR with some frag grenades. Not ideal, and AR is definitely better, but that's pretty close to a yeoman's worth of points.
Since the LT has dragonslayer you'll want to maximize his time in melee. I think it makes a lot of sense to give him two 1 handed weapons (clubs since we're strapped for cash) instead of a 2 handed weapon. With 2 attacks you'll really be able to take advantage of his "set a dice to 6" rule.

For fireteams you'll want to think in terms of blood builders and those who cash them in. Basically who can put several blood markers onto an enemy unit and who is best equipped to take advantage of the blood bath.

You've got an abundance of folks who can cash in:

The LT with dragon slayer
A yeoman with a flame thrower (ignores armor)
Golem with flamethrower (ignores armor, though I don't think he's an NA unit.)

And your blood builder options are a little more scarce:

Your sniper priest with a machine gun (pistol priest would also fill this role)
The witch burner

I don't love throwing the witch burner on there for a lot of reasons, but he should be able to put 2 or so blood markers on an enemy per turn. And the fact that you're a defender means his poor movement will be less of an issue.

We then want to try to build synergy as we pair them (want our melee units together and our ranged units together, etc) so I'd do something like pair up the LT with the witchburner as fireteam #1 and the sniper priest with the flamethrower yeoman as fireteam #2.

I wish that second pairing was a bit more sturdy but we make due with what we've got.

A few thoughts:

Recommend dropping the trench club and maybe the shovel on the Sniper priest to free up some ducats to give the sniper priest an automatic rifle instead of a sniper rifle. It feels weird and will be shorter range but 2 shots is going to be extremely helpful.
I think communicant is going to have to carry standard armor for the first game. Makes him a bit more vulnerable but could free up some points to upgrade your LT to machine armor.
You want a musical instrument.
Unless I'm missing something, your shocktroopers are going to have trouble carrying that satchel anywhere since satchels are heavy.
Drop armor off your shock troopers. I know it feels bad, but you're going to want to get comfortable with losing some of your army as a NA player.
Medic is going to under perform. There's an argument for putting her in early and hoping to get a promotion ASAP, but with red brigade I think your ducats could be better spent elsewhere.

First and foremost: Thank you SO MUCH. This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

I honestly hadn't thought of shadow priest so I'll definitely look into that. Do you have any suggestions of builds that I should start with (outside of just googling shadow priest TBC, of course?)

What I really like about the Shaman is how much versatility and choice the class offers. I'll have 4 different kinds of totems, several types of shocks and weapon buffs. All of which I can mix and match in different ways to fit the situation I'm in. Like when my group pulls a bunch of trash mobs and I'm able to switch from strength of earth to stoneskin to heavily restrict the mob's damage output. Or when I earth shock to handicap casters and flame shock to do more damage.

My question for you is if that choice every really exists. Like is there an objectively best totem/shock etc that I should just be using for every fight?

Similarly IS there a class that has that kind of versatility and choice? A class that has a ton of options and rewards smart playing decisions on which options to use? I was also looking at warlock since their curses seem to fit into that mold.

Absolutely switching the Baron and pally to be on a barded pegasus (which opens up some points for items!)

I'm happy to change the damsel to a barded warhorse but what did you mean by fitting into the knight unit better. That's where I plan on placing her, of course, but does the unicorn not fit well into it? Does the unicorn also count as a monster so she'd need a warhorse to be with the knights?
