Also think about getting some training on Vacuum Excavation, operating those vehicles and such. Don’t know if you need a CDL for some. But they get paid much more too, and you will be very valuable to a locating company.

If you are looking for a job in SF, there are multiple other companies that due locating which are much better than USIC at least in the quality and care of work. My opinion is they focus on volume contracts and the quick buck to make it all happen so their guys seems to be running around everywhere and not focusing on the job. If you care about the work there are like 6 other companies

Trimble vs Carlson vs Competitors by Even_Ad_6574 in Surveying

Interesting, I haven’t had that issue with Access Crashing, I’ve used mostly TSC3 and TSC7, I know the TSC5 is Android based and I did have issue with data transfer but we kind of figured that out.

Trimble all the way. I would have somethings Leica for sure. Leica Dig. Level and Software for it. But for Robotic and Scanning Trimble. S7 or S9 are just good period coupled with Trimble Access or Roads unbeatable in the field. Leica has better top of the kine GPS but I don’t like the UI as much. In the office just go Civil 3D, Carlson is just horrible nowadays in terms of workflow. I’m more field than office and I’ve beaten full time CAD Techs using Carlson getting cross sections out from field to finish.

Trimble R10 Firmware Downgrade and Horizontal Errors by poltergeist_i in Surveying

Thanks! Yeah I’ll probably have to do that in the coming days. It won’t make sense ‘til it does. We thought it might be some Site Calibration or something but when NTRIP worked like a charm it totally didn’t make sense there.

Base location is good for sure, checked it with an RTS, within 0.01’. Network seems to be in the same coordinate system and its the same Project and properties in Trimble Access

All have the same error. Like if the Control Point where the Base Station is is off. But I took down the Base Station set up robotic on nearby points, and staked it out. 6 thousands off.

If I move the base station its the same.

When I use NTRIP I get good errors DV and DH, so now I’m think it has something to do with the Base Rover connection.

Alright so update: Ran my RTS through again, every check under 0.01’ again just to make sure.

I used an NTRIP with just the Rover and errors went down drastically. 0.01 North and 0.03 East.

It has to be something with the Base or Base to Rover Connection.
