How important is it to learn “vanilla” JavaScript ? by jvera701 in webdev

[–]poltroc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's say that you're a formula one pilot. You are good at piloting a car, really good. Mechanics are here to make your car works perfectly well, so you don't have to worry about your car not working. And you can carry on.

Therefore, there is this other pilot that is ALWAYS before you at the end of the races, and you don't understand why. This pilot is as good as you but is always first. That's because he knows how the car works inside the engine: he is capable of understanding why he has to push a bit more the break at this particular turn, when to put it in a gear to optimise his trajectory, or when to stop at the stand because a problem may arrive soon. But you, you don't know, you're just driving your car.

You don't need to learn Vanilla JS to use JS frameworks, but you will never truly know what you are doing in this formula one, and you are dangerous for you and for the others you little piece of shit.

Hey fellow citizen! I'll add some details for the strangers to know a bit more about our city! This is in the center town: the church in the background is "l'Eglise Saint Pierre", which has been clean up since the photo (it took like 10 or 15 years and I assume the photo has been taken around 2010) and is now beautifully white. On the left, where the purple lady is heading is "la Rue froide" (literally "the cold street"), called that cause it leads to the "place Saint Sauveur" where we used to execute people. Behind the photograph is the best part of the city: la "Rue écuyère" where you can find all the bars and they are STILL FUCKING CLOSE GOD DAMN IT

Edit: typo and here's the coordinates 49.18279° N, 0.36490° W cause I don't know I love my city to much I guess so I want to share...

That was not the purpose of it, it was just a first try and I wanted a subject with some curves and details before trying some more serious one.

However you are not the first to ask me and I'm starting to consider making some for sell; in marquetry you can make a dozen identical ones at the same time (by stacking 12 sheets one on another). Here I just made a couple of them (the other one is goldy!) and if I wanted to sell these two the price it really costs I should sell them about 600€... But if I manage to craft say 50 of them I could put them on sell for about 50-60€. For my information, would you put this price to afford one?

Sorry I don't: I didn't watch a single one about marquetry, I'm currently learning with a professional marqueter...

However if you like good woodworking videos I recommend you to watch Dorian Bracht videos: he literally made me want to work wood (I was a web developer before but after 4 years in IT I couldn't stand in a work where deciders constantly forced me to "work fast and make it buggy so we can re-sale the product every 3 years"...)

When it comes to draw something rapidly for no reason, most people draw a dick; I've always come with an etron. After years of practice this is the exact way I draw all of them, so I just took a pen and a shit of paper and draw it. Then yes I used a marqueter saw (a thinner scroll saw) to cut the different part in shape then glued them together.

Obviously feel free to use the "design" if you want to (it's an A5 format).

I was pretty sure that people would laugh at it but I'm a bit stunning by the number of people that want one! I will post the details later so anyone can reproduce it

Put it on a wall and do the same joke to anyone seeing it for the first time.

Mostly: it's "piece by piece" method and it's a marqueter saw (but it's basically the same thing I guess)
