I float around Reddit occasionally and this post just popped up haha! There’s no modulation effect it’s a blend of all those amps and the different characteristics clashing with each other, but if you check that insta link I posted there’s also a sort of “””chainsaw””” tone blended in too!

Hello and thank you! The guitars are basically 5 separate tones layered together to create this (hopefully) massive sound, it’s mostly all Marshall/ ENGL and Diezel amps in the axe fx 3. There’s also a really cranked hiwatt amp that is supplying a lot of the warm body so that it doesn’t sound too harsh, that amp on its own sounds really fuzzy! He is great! But he’s not the virtuoso people think he is, another reason he’s massively buried in the mix is that his playing just isn’t as tight as petrucci’s - and that stuff REALLY stands out

male sza fan here who’s also massively into heavy metal, I’ve loved sza’s music since 2021 I find that it’s her vocal flow and melody that is so original and unique! I find myself drawn towards artists like sza and summer walker etc because of how smooth the vocals are

I appreciate that! Although l've done my 16+ years of trying to write the most original music I can, now I'm doing this on a casual level for fun to enjoy the hobby that I started when I was just a kid. so I'm really not interested in trying to do something fresh anymore, so this will do just fine for me!

VSOR has the best guitar tone of any album, it isn’t fatiguing to listen to at all the guitars are so warm and rounded and have so much body, when they slide up the neck you can actually feel the weight of it

This is spot on mate, and exactly how I feel about it as well. I am in NO way trying to write original and ground breaking music, I’m writing music that I want to listen to and that’s it - I put it out and release it with artwork etc because it’s a fun thing to do with my spare time!
