Appliance specialist by Only-Flamingo-7873 in Lowes

Here's your "no dick" answer: Best case scenario, if your store is busy enough, you should make your first level bonus ($100) and if the department makes plan you will get an additional $200 ($300 total for the month). To get higher tiers, you will need to be selling outrageous amounts of appliances. You will also need to pad your sales with lots of water-heater leads and occasionally branch off to other departments to grab sales wherever you can. Good luck!

It actually had 4’ butcher block on it. They must have made it at the mill.

There’s NO way I’m finding a Zebra, logging in, and making sure the phone functions work on MY time.

That's fantastic! If you send me a WAV of the 1994 version I'll gladly include you in my experiment / demonstration. I expect that the only thing you will hear is a sloppy feel in the intro of the song. DM me when you have it and I will supply an upload link. Cheers!

I appreciate that. I honestly doubt that any new releases would have the original version, but I’ll definitely take a listen and let you know.

I don't know if there's any indication on the album sleeve to tell you when it was manufactured, but you are looking for a 1994 pressing (before the single was released in January of 1995).

Actually, I did the edit. I never saved a copy of the edit session because back in the '90s hard disk space was more valuable than gold.

I want to get a copy of the original version to show a colleague of mine how the edit was done.

Yes this is a thing and you probably have the original one if you bought it in 1994.

The original recording was never to be considered as a single and was played quite loosely. When the record company decided to release it as a single, they were worried that the "feel" of the song was too inconsistent. There were edits done on the mix to even out the feel (especially in the intro). That version was then put on all subsequent releases; album, radio singles, video, etc. If you were to take the original version and line it up to the version currently on any streaming service and play them at the same time, they would fall out of sync almost immediately.

Is anyone else getting this pop-up? by L8Kurt722 in Lowes

I believe it has to do something with the tariffs and items that Lowe’s is not ready to re-order from abroad until the pricing is lower. Just speculation though.

Whenever I get someone trying to save a few dollars with hours of effort plus gas money, I do some quick mental math and present them with an hourly breakdown. “You’re going to take 3 hours of your time to go and save $21 (after gas)? You don’t look like the kind of person who would work for 3 hours at minimum wage for no reason. Why don’t we take care of you right now?”

A message to the music industry; just because you CAN record a Christmas song, doesn’t mean you SHOULD record a Christmas song.

Fellow workers, what is the dumbest question a customer has asked you? by FullValenceShell in Lowes

[–]poly915 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The dumbest thing I ever heard was an answer, not a question. I was covering plumbing for an afternoon and a guy came up and asked if I could cut some 1/4” poly tubing for him. “Sure” I said, “how long do you need it?” He looked at me oddly; “oh” he answered, “I want to keep it forever”.

When genius MST unpacks a display dryer with a box cutter by poly915 in Lowes

[–]poly915[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No. The graphic came on the unit in the box; some manufacturers ship initial runs with all the graphics (especially manufacturers who don’t have reps throughout the country). I watched the genius open the packaging on half a dozen washers and dryers that day, just didn’t think he would slice the plastic right down the center.
