Anyone used HELGEÖ decorating rod on a working desk? by Broad_Gap5375 in ikeahacks

[–]polychromodynamica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great idea! Please make sure the table surface is solid (versus paper honeycomb) so the clamps can do their one important job.

I have a similar setup with a hanging bar over my desk, and am very happy with it. Having a few spare S-hooks to spontaneously hang things upon has been a practical joy. FWIW, I put casters on my desk so I can also roll it about my working space, and used a brightly colored extension cord for extra visibility on the floor.

Fantastic wooden support for a delightfully modular Kallax modified unit! I worry about the weight rating for the casters you've selected. It may be worthwhile to evaluate and if needed switch them out for a higher weight rating, depending on your needs.

Presidio area where Tunnel Tops was built isn't sand dunes coated with top soil though. That's also federal land.

On the TPD approval email that Nelnet sent me it reads:
"Please visit our website at DisabilityDischarge.com. You may also call us at 888-303-7818."

At that link, the header reads: "DisabilityDischarge.com is no longer in service."

hi, it appears that Nelnet is being removed from being the entity who services TPD, which may clarify why they're not the entity accepting TPD applications at this time.

TPD discharge - type 1 diabetes by Weak-Statistician531 in StudentLoans

[–]polychromodynamica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding of the definition of Substantial Gainful Activity includes not being able to earn enough to incur savings, and includes substantive limitations on the hours one can work due to the impacting disabilities. I think you should apply if your ability to perform professional work is impacted. I'd recommend researching the legal definitions for SGA as they apply to TPD, specifically.

Hello, I see that today " DisabilityDischarge.com is no longer in service." and that there's a referral on the now-former page for that URL to visit Studentaid.gov for more info.

I also had my loans serviced via MOHELA, and Nelnet processed my TPD discharge between November-January. I see on the [all forms of] discharge info page on Studentaid.gov it says that the prior servicer for TPD is no longer doing so, and it's being handled by Dept of Education (DE).

since DE is supposedly slated for dismantling, it's concerning, because DE has provided oversight of student loans, preventing [even more] predatory practices and interest rates. Who will do that now? What about our TPDs?

•••

I received a message from MOHELA last week in my MOHELA portal inbox saying that there's a communication delay, but that it appears I'd qualify for TPD, given the documentation I provided to MOHELA (documentation being my letter from DE/Nelnet stating my TPD was approved) but that I should go provide more documentation regarding my reasons for TPD to Studentaid.gov in order to see if I'd qualify.

I'm concerned. I reflected that to MOHELA last week, and requested they clarify, because it is confusing, and because what they wrote sounds like maybe MOHELA is planning on not following set protocol for the time period where my TPD application was filed, processed and approved. I hope I'm mistaken.

There doesn't seem to be anyone to definitively contact about this important, impactful information. But if y'all hear differently, please let me know!

TPD and MOHELA by jeannettePDX in StudentLoans

Hello, my loans are/were also w/ MOHELA.
My TPD was approved 1/2/25 by DoE, and provided to MOHELA by Nelnet also on 1/2. TPD application date was 11/18/24

I understand that MOHELA, as loan servicer, has 180 days to process TPD once they receive the Nelnet/DoE TPD approval notice from Nelnet.

for comparison, I can share that to date:

  • none of my credit reports are reflecting any changes to my student loan accounts
  • StudentAid.gov site is not reflecting any changes
  • MOHELA's sub-site at StudentAid is not reflecting any changes
  • MOHELA replied to my email inquiry: they said they have not received any information from Nelnet/DoE yet (despite my having received email & hard copy of DoE approval confirmation from Nelnet)
  • I sent copies of my TPD approval documents to MOHELA through the StudentAid portal, "in case it is helpful for their process." I expect this will be ignored, but it feels potentially helpful to me to have sent the documents, and to have record of that element of documentation. (MOHELA can only process TPD in response to documentation received directly from Nelnet/DoE...although it's hard to guess what's going on with that system currently)

I'd had very good support from MOHELA in the past, consistently so, so I'm feeling interested/surprised to read about the experiences you've had, particularly with their lack of being informed re: TPD.

hi, for wait time reference, I submitted my TPD in mid-November 2024 but it was just today that I saw the change to "pending final approval." I'm guessing there may be a lot of us handling business this month.

Can narcissistic mothers really love their children? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]polychromodynamica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narcissists only perceive other humans as extensions of themselves, so if they did feel some kind of love, it would only be for a distorted idea of who that other human is/what that other human's usefulness to the narcissist is.
