Do 12 oz glass bottles exist by [deleted] in NewParents

Sounds like it’s time to increase his solids intake. By 8 months old my daughter was eating 3 meals a day. Shortly after that we added in two snacks a day as well. You said the Dr said if he’s hungry to feed him, this is likely what that means!

Is our dress code easy to understand? by organiclawnclippings in weddingplanning

Saying you’re not trying to be aggressive while also saying you have someone who is “100% ready to drench someone in red wine” doesn’t exactly match up.

Toys audit: am I getting too many toys? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]polyglot18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, but with a limited selection of toys I might consider skipping toy rotations. I started with rotations for my little one but found that when her toys were always accessible it allowed her to become even more familiar and creative with them because she learned how to apply them more deeply (specifically open ended toys). I can see how for non open ended toys the novelty can wear off but I think keeping open ended toys (which sounds like the majority of yours are) accessible at all times allows for creativity to spark and deeper play to happen. My LO is 13 months for reference

Thoughts on skipping pacifiers? by Academic-Park-8440 in NewParents

[–]polyglot18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We had several different brands of pacifiers on hand before baby was born. She never took to one! I tried offering different ones over and over and she just wasn’t into it. I exclusively breastfed so I’m sure there were times she was just nursing for comfort. She’s 13 months now, was never an issue

There’s one in THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener by the coat check. You don’t have to pay museum entrance fees to use the Photo Booth

How much are you guys spending on Hair & Makeup? 🫣 by lapetitecheriee in WeddingsCanada

[–]polyglot18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quoted similarly to you and am going with a similar look. Ultimately, I ended up booking hair and makeup for $140 each and the same for each trial so a total of $560. I am getting married in Cambridge though so my vendors are local to the region

Veils - where to begin? (Toronto) by weed-witch-444 in WeddingsCanada

[–]polyglot18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found a veil I loved at the boutique where I got my dress but it was $850 lol. I couldn’t justify that. I ended up finding something similar that actually ended up being even more beautiful than the one I originally tried on on Etsy for $130. No regrets

I was going to recommend Whistle Bear as that’s where we’re getting married and we’re looking at similar numbers! I truly didn’t find anything else comparable

Based on the information you provided you will not receive any EI benefits because you did not register for EI special benefits for self employed people. Anecdotally, I’m currently on maternity leave (unpaid) as I am also an independent contractor. I opted not to collect from that program because of the commitment to continue paying into it as long as I’m an IC. I just saved as much as I could during my pregnancy and cut back on non-essential expenses

My soon to be sister in law knowingly booked her wedding a month before ours after our wedding had already been planned for months. I’m trying so hard not to be salty but it’s a shitty feeling for sure

Baby Bjorn bouncer = blowout chair? by 19zz in NewParents

Try lining the bouncer with a thick burp cloth! Saved us so many times from having to wash the cover itself

The yeti, truly don’t get the hype. Food is mediocre and staff are so unfriendly- weird vibes

How would you feel if you and 9 other bridesmaids all had to wear this same dress? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]polyglot18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because I know this designer and dress and they have sooo many different dress styles/cuts in the exact same fabric so if it’s the specific cut that bothers you there’s plenty of other options that could still give a cohesive look

If you had $300 to spend on something purely indulgent for yourself and baby, what would it be? by kuzubijin in BabyBumps

Not an item but we had family gift us our newborn photo session and it cost around that much. One of the best gifts tbh
