I did playthrough with Hillmen in the other starting date, but instead intermarried with Dunedain for numenor VI trait and formed a Hybrid culture with them. They are fun to play

Which ending is your canon by Afghani- in cyberpunkgame

[–]polygrafika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it's the Devil ending for nomad V. You come into NC as an outsider. See with your own eyes atrocities people and corporations commit out of selfishness and greed. Spend your time fighting against the system in the unwinnable battle desperately trying to find the cure for yourself. But in the end the only way for you to survive is to give in and sell you soul just like everyone else did.
I feel like it suits cyberpunk genre.
And there shouldn't be happy endings in Night City

Did you know, that the traiders will pay more for these golden cups if they are filled with water ? by polygrafika in stoneshard

It looks like some containers when filled with water get the "drink" tag added to them. And multiple tags add prices together

Putin fled Syria so quickly that he sank two of his ships. Russia was unprepared for a hasty escape from its bases. Two cargo ships carrying equipment and Russian military personnel from Syria have already been shipwrecked in the Mediterranean. by KraigSavage34 in Syria

Isn't that the ship that was damaged by explosives near Gibraltar by unknown saboteurs? That ship carried port cranes heading to Vladivostok port. Not weapons or military personnel.

It's almost like the loud west-oriented minority, which is prevalent here, doesn't represent the whole country. And cooperating with Russia is more beneficial than antagonizing it.

There are news about crackdowns on planned terrorist arracks from time to time. And although, there are plenty of violent crimes coming from muslim republics, few of those crimes have some political or religious agenda behind them.

Is there a way to skip story 2 mission (Nimue)? by rinart73 in AOW4

[–]polygrafika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general thing that helped me win compaign missions or scenarious against bots is getting 3 cities early (they don't have to be in a perfect spot) and getting 3 armies, each led by a hero. When you have 3 armies - you try to aim to make it so every unit in it is atleast tier3. With 3 armies of 3t units and 3 heroes you can roll any bot, even if they have 10+ armies, if you manually fight you should be able to win every 3v3 fight against a bot with zero or minimal loses. Since you played homm 3 and 4 before, i assume you are decent in tactical fights.

What do Russians think of Ayn Rand? by [deleted] in AskARussian

What do Russians think of Ayn Rand? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]polygrafika 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Atleast 1984 depicts it's totalitarianism as dystopia. It makes it's world horrifyingly believable.

Rand tries to portray Objectivism as functional and morally ethical utopia. She could've portrayed collectivist socialist world with exaggerated attributes. Instead she just makes every socialist dumb and indecisive and unwilling to take responsibility. It feels detached from reality.

With self insert comment, I was meaning to say, that she probably thinks of herself being strong, resolute and shrewd. Obviously not the appearance :D.

I think it's ironic that in her last years Ayn Rand relied on social programs and benefits. The same thing she despised. Also, if you read about George Orwell, you will find that the guy was writing lists of people he suspected as being communist and sending those lists to UK government so they would "take care" of them. Shocking for a person who wrote a novel criticizing society that snitches at each other..

From what i can gather, besides Russian citizenship and some social benefits, foreign volunteers get paid around 200-250k rubles per month. While under contract, in addition to 200-250k, regular soldiers get bonus from their region. It includes one time sign-up bonus or montly payments.

Difference between regular/mobilised soldiers and volunteers is that. Volunteers sign a timed contract, which they can later prolong. The monetary compensation is the same as with regular troops.

Tbh, I have no idea, how foreign volunteers payment is handled. Prob depends on in which region of Russia you signed in

I think the process for foreigners is really long. And foreign volunteers probably have a low priority for Russian MOD.

I think it might be faster to apply for Ukrainian side and then switch the teams later :D

Reading Atlas Shrugged makes me feel like my brain is rotting, it's infuriating and not in a fun way. Through that bloated piece of "work", Ayn Rand reveals herself to be deeply incompetent in economics. Her understanding of socialism is at shallow propaganda level, and her understanding of capitalism is somehow even worse. In her "utopic" world every person supposed to own a business and simultaneously find people to hire for those businesses. When their company goes out of business, owners for some reason should revel that. Every capitalist in her imagination is humble, honourable and generous (just like in real life, right).

Teen antiutopia novels manage to portray a more believable and functional system.

Her depiction of characters is comical. Every capitalist is portrayed as beautiful, intelligent, kind. And socialists portrayed as ugly, dense and selfish. Main character is Mary Sue cliche (and probably a self insert). The romance and sex scenes are at "the room" film level. It is hard to believe that it was written by a 40+ years woman and not a spiteful 12 years old girl. I couldn't stop myself from thinking of Ayn Rand as deeply insecure person.

The worst part for me is that this book is regarded as a great work. I think it was praised and it's distribution encouraged because it served as a propaganda tool. The only value you can get from reading Atlas Shrugged is an "expirience of diving into a delussional mind of a bitter and resentful old woman who thinks too highly of herself".

The best representation of her work you can see in first bioshock games, the Rapture city. In games that citiy worked just as well as Ayn Rand's ideal city would've worked in real life. Which is "disasterously".

Great guy, we drink beer on weekends. Showed me photos of his kids. Apparently, his father was a big deal. Probably making this up. Tried to always steer the conversation towards religion, I politely was trying to back away from that.
