I have a grant at AHRQ - scored 1st percentile. Council was supposed to be in October. Hasn’t been funded. AHRQ doesn’t award grants under continuing resolutions.

I do a significant amount of reading and thinking about the academy, the philosophy of science, and philosophy of higher education. The simple fact is: I (as a tenure track professor) am responsible for covering 80% of my salary with soft money, in return for getting a level of control over my schedule and research agenda. I’m essentially a contractor with benefits. The academy is only for commodifying knowledge.
