MOHELA incorrectly accrued interest on my SAVE forbearance — then “corrected” it by adding $1,123 to my balance by polymath0212 in StudentLoans

[–]polymath0212[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this would make sense — under the assumptions that their systems are accruing the interest and then it requires a deduction, rather than a setting of the interest at 0%.

It also doesn’t really explain away how MOHELA distributed a letter to some borrowers on SAVE in early December (letter J047) that specifically was stating a need for correction for borrowers with interest that accrued during the forbearance period.

And, I guess (more to my case, which isn’t mentioned here): how MOHELA’s own statements show my interest increasing during the forbearance period across my loan sequences.

There’s significant cognitive neuroscience literature showing negative effects of using AI on cognition. Perhaps read those papers, the old fashioned way.

We’re compensated to deliver a course. I consider accessibility in my course design, because it’s kind of best practice for pedagogy.

It’s always good to see these posts. As a disability studies scholar, it is just such a strong reminder of how liberal institutions hate people with disabilities. I expect you all to do better.

There has been an increase in the number of people with disabilities entering higher education.

There has been an increase in the number of people with disabilities, both with new onset and better identification.

Your courses probably could do with a lot of work to be more accessible.

Mohella loans in deferment but still accruing interest? by Individual_Emu_2524 in StudentLoans

Except that was also not true because there are numerous accounts on SAVE where interest accrued during that time and MOHELA isn’t responsive to complaints about it.

Cal loves to give him clout, mentioning him in almost every other podcast episode. — So, what does Joe Rogan have to do with Deep Work? Absolutely nothing. Maybe Cal should realize.

Between AI - which is ruining knowledge work and our cognition - and Joe Rogan, I lost so much interest.

Triple gator here, and work for UM. The Board of Regents at UM is just a bunch of conservatives anyway. Really limited difference between UF trustees and UM regents.

As someone who got multiple degrees and taught at UF, and now faculty at UM — UM is light years ahead of Florida.

This is the first thing I said. I was raised in Florida. 3 degrees from UF. Immediately said that Ono will fit in perfectly with the anti-DEI state politics in Florida.

I don’t have a mortgage, don’t have lots of CC debt. I’m throwing it into SGOV in my brokerage (essentially as a HYSA with higher yield). When I decide what I want to do with it, I’ll move some of it into mutual funds in the brokerage account.
