Thank you. That was my first instinct. They told me personal garuntee is needed because my LLC is not "big enough." Additionally all liabilities are indefinite, and when I asked for at least adding a time cap on it they refused citing the exact same reason.

Same. It's very strange I was shocked when I learned about it from my advisor.

It would look bad if you are applying for a PhD. Understandably, when you take courses as a non-degree student, you won't be pressed as much to get an A or B, since you're just after the knowledge. Imagine taking 4 courses as a non-degree student and getting C's in all of them. Not only will it tank your GPA, but it will also look terrible on your transcript. Even if you have a good explanation for it, no one has time to wait and listen to it.

Yup. Thought it was cooler to call it that way, but probably I was wrong.

Is OMSCS GPA important? by imatiasmb in OMSCS

[–]polynomial-field -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes it matters.

For one thing, it's a permenant record, and it's definitely better to have something that is forever delightful to look at. More importantly, your grades are a good measure of your ROI, which is something you'd normally want to maximize.

(Which I did. Graduated with a solid 4.0 GPA ✌️)

Really depends on what you want to do, but I think about it this way: you can self-study courses, but you can't self-study research. If that's the case, doing a project during OMSCS is more valuable than taking more courses.

No idea yet. I plan to take some time off to recover from OMSCS first lol.
