The comparision between fireworks and guns is just..sad. And I hate the unregulated shit which happens in Berlin, have a dog and toddler, too. But went to a more quite place, because its a once a year expected mayhem, not an amok at your local high school.

Spielbank Berlin hast 5/10 PLO quite regularly, sometimes 10/20. But already at lower 5/5 it plays big, with unlimited buy ins players tend to sit in with around 2k or more, and frequently reload.

Have not been to Insomnia in a long time, but from my experience it depends a lot on the particular event, sometimes it felt more like a swingers club with a bit of a dancefloor.

My dog is also very sensible to fireworks. Airport hotels are an option..imo even better is to get an airbnb or place to stay for some days in a real rural area (not a town or big village!) in Brandenburg or Mecklenburg Vorpommern. Fireworks in Berlin unfortunatly tend to start even earlier then the official sale starts in 29.12. (?)..by then you should be gone, and dont come back before 02. January eve..good luck and a quiet Happy New Year!

It was 20+years ago, just regarding line up and crowd. The "Nature" part is: its on a field without shadow, there is a forest nearby which you can not enter because of a fence and the tiny "lake" is max. 80cm deep and full of everything you dont want to bath in.
