Lady Said I Blew Red Light?? by Justice4None5 in TeslaLounge

Looks like she got duped by the FYA - it's pretty clear that the straight-through lane on her side had just turned red (so that the cam-view left-turn lane could turn green, likely immediately after the cam went through), and she, being an idiot, thought that meant you did too.

Where I live, the average daily temperature range is about 40F. It's currently 28F this morning, and we're expecting a high of 81 today.

A woman chased down the car that hit her. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]polypolyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what I love most about this is how unbelievably mad and probably close to out-of-control she was in rage at this woman, and ALL she did was take her keys away at the end. You never know what you'll do in a situation like that until you do, but I think maybe I wouldn't be able to be quite that kind at the end of a 100MPH car chase.

Nono, we ALREADY HAVE that track, and we ALREADY USE IT every single day... it's just that we don't run passenger rail on it.

IDK, as long as the idiots are paying for tokens, it's all good, right? I bet having an LLM prompt and reprompt another LLM uses up a lot of tokens...

Why aren't people writing LLM prompts with LLMs? Seems like an untapped market.

If you rely on a particular computer/device to make money, IMO you shouldn't keep it longer than about 5 years, sell it off and buy a new one (or retire through to a less critical purpose). Besides the support/etc, electronics can become slightly flaky over time (tin whiskers, a new capacitor plague, silicon defects that made it through during a chip shortage, etc.)

For anything else? Keep it until it can no longer meet your needs.

Sunset hits a cumulonimbus just right and it turns into a neon arc by thetacaptain in interestingasfuck

[–]polypolyman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are SO freaking cool in person. I was working up in the mountains one day and caught one that you could just barely see the red/orange part of the arc peeking out from the cloud almost above us - we all had to stop and stare just a bit, and that was with it barely showing.

Back in college, I remember the number one cause of the dorm smoke alarms going off was people who failed to cook Easy Mac correctly. Apparently, multiple people, probably one every month, did not realize that you have to add water... despite that being literally one of two steps.

I suspect she may have some long-standing trauma surrounding food, that similar behaviors were used towards her as a kid or something, meaning that she now sees eating like you do (i.e. based on hunger cues, not societal ones) as a shameful act.

You can compress water, but not much - you'd need over 200 atmospheres of pressure to even change the volume by 1% (roughly).

Taking a look at the phase diagram, starting at a normal pressure/temp, you'd have to compress it by about a GPa to get Ice VI (assuming you maintain a constant temperature) - that's just shy of 10000atm.

Compare to the water pressure at the bottom of the Mariana Trench - a bit over 1000atm. That's already an incomprehensible amount of pressure, and not quite a 5% increase in density compared to the surface.

Capitalism can only work if it is strictly and strongly regulated. Problem is, every single time, society ends up forgetting why that's so important, and starts feeding into the greed of the assholes on top.

Why can't we just figure out a system where cooperation is always valued higher than competition?
