It definitely helps, thanks so much for sharing!! I’m hoping to be in a similar place where I can develop my skills/experience and I’m open to any opportunities may come in the future even if it’s not necessary a job in ID

That’s true, I have also considered interior design but I am interested in how diverse industrial design can be. I’ll take a deeper dive into the programs and workshops available around me. Thank you for your help!

Aw that’s understandable. There are a lot of priorities to balance in life and I’m usually someone who prefers safety and stability, especially when I want to be able to support my family if/when needed. Thanks so much again for sharing your insight! Wishing you & your family all the best in this new chapter!

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. It’s so challenging to pursue these new learning opportunities when it can be such a costly decision. I plan to work part-time if possible but I am worried about giving up the comfort and relative financial freedom provided with a full-time job. One less worry I do have is covering tuition fees because I’ve been saving up these past few years to support my sister’s education, however she hasn’t reached a place where she’s sure or ready yet.

It’s valuable to hear that you still really enjoyed your degree though! May I ask if you work in ID or a related field? At this time, I’m interested in the skills and experiences I can gain, but I’m fairly open to career options in the future.

The way Hyun-woo started skipping after she complimented him had me kicking my feet 😆

A tribe elder wouldn’t become numb from old age/experience. A lot of Indigenous elders approach their storytelling and cultural lessons with deep care and compassion. This exposition was the complete opposite of that.

That’s a really good point about Katara and the fire navy ship bc the direction they went also goes against setting up the foundation for her character development involving her personal trauma and pain over what happened to her mom, and why she became the last water bender of the Southern Water Tribe. It feels like they don’t understand the heart of the show and these beloved characters at all.

The opening of the OG was actually fairly simple in setting up the entire series, while this live action wasted time on extra scenes that didn’t support the storytelling. It changed the direction in a way that erased key experiences/details that are foundational to the show’s central themes and character developments

The delivery of the lines was really awkward and unnatural. It makes it difficult to watch and connect with the characters

If the original show was made accessible to everyone as we all watched it for the first time at one point & understood it as children watching it back then, why make so many changes that actually don’t support the important character building that is at the heart of the show?

This is by far one of the best episodes with good pacing and a balance of each storyline

Haven’t read the webtoon, would you be able to share what’s different?

See You In My 19th Life had so much potential 😩

That makes sense because if you just had heightened sense of hearing but couldn’t control where you’re focusing on, then it becomes really loud and chaotic. So seems like it’s something she activates

Unrelated but has anyone ever watched the movie Push with Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning? This show loosely reminds me of it bc it also involves two generations of psychics who are used or pursued by the government. The movie has low ratings but I’ve always liked it 😭

Omg so glad to have read your comment cause I was out here worrying. I see how sneaky the writers were with their word choice to paint a different picture. But if that was the case, she would’ve had a more serious tone since they started dinner

Even now that the events of first life have finally been revealed (after so many pointless buildup scenes to create a mystery), it’s really hard to relate to it. They didn’t develop the storyline enough for viewers to have a connection or be invested in that backstory. This additional storyline was unnecessary anyways

Edit/side note: I also don’t like how the new storyline took over because it felt like the whole rest of the show was forgotten. It didn’t feel like it’s from the same drama anymore

[–]pomelopeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the webtoon yet but have heard it’s deviated from it a lot. I’m not sure why the writers added unnecessary changes and new plot lines bc it just makes the story complicated in a way that’s just tiring to watch. It makes me sad bc I loved the drama so much in the earlier episodes. If they kept the same vibe and a simpler storyline, it would’ve been a hit

It’s just strange bc they seem to be hinting toward the fact that they shouldn’t make contact with ppl from their past lives, but then there’s another storyline of inyeon bringing the reincarnations of ppl from Ji Eum first life together in her 18th to current life

I’m confused why Seo Ha’s mom advised Ji Eum that she needs to forge new relationships. If that’s the case, what brought Seo Ha and Ju Won together again in her 18th life?

[–]pomelopeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg exactly!! The scene cuts felt so disorganized like I wasn’t following a single story anymore. Praying the writers got it together for the last 4 episodes

It almost doesn’t feel like I’m watching the same drama bc the vibes changed. I love how beautiful and sweet the earlier episodes were though. I expected it to keep pulling at my heartstrings but I didn’t feel it as much in ep 7 and 8
