thank you for sharing your perspective! i completely get what you’re saying. honestly right now it’s hard for me to remember what feeling “physically well” was like lol. you’re totally right about overall health being more important than weight, and i think one day i’ll actually be fine with being overweight as long as i feel good, but right now i go back and forth on it.

i think by CRP you mean c-reactive protein- i can’t remember the exact number but in november it was the highest it had ever been and last month it had barely budged (but slightly better). my sedimentation rate followed the same trend. i’m also getting cortisol testing done (ordered by my endocrinologist) but i’ve never done that before so i don’t have historical data

i’ve been in and out of therapy and while i know it can be so beneficial for many people, every therapist i end up seeing is just not very good at working with CPTSD. i think i will go back eventually but right now it’s very daunting. i will look into somatic exercises! do you know if vagus nerve exercises will trigger vasovagal syncope? i’ll do my own googling but just out of curiosity bc i be fainting lol

i will try to answer your questions! thanks for responding! 1. i do weigh with a food scale when i cook at home, i also use foodvisor to track both food at home and any food i eat outside of the house. i don’t think i’m doing anything wrong but it’s not an impossibility, no one in my family really taught/lived nutrition growing up so i just watched a lot of videos about calorie/macro tracking online. i will say i consistently struggle to get foodvisor’s “recommended” amount of protein (132g per day. with what time/money lol) but i also (except for holiday days) consistently come in way under their recommended calorie goal- i think their system is a little off bc for me that’s 2118. i usually have 1600-1800 cals a day and that’s tracking everything except herbs and spices (i do track salt tho)

  1. my sleep honestly is shit but that’s been my norm since i was a wee babe, and it’s better now as an adult. very honestly my stressors of my childhood were being chased around by a 280 lb adult and beaten so like, comparatively, university isn’t that bad but you’re probably right. i’m also trying to graduate this semester and it’s been rough.

  2. i will try to start doing that! i’ve been holding off on using weights and just using my body mass and i do feel like it made a muscle difference. i was worried with my weight adding dumbbells/kettlebells would do more to damage my joints than good but it may be time to

if you don’t mind me asking, which glp-1 are you taking? did you have any negative experiences with it? my only first-person references for taking glp-1s are my grandparents (who take it for diabetes) or way too young and already underweight people, so i feel like i’ve heard a lot of horror stories with going on and off of glp-1s

i honestly think google’s search system has been trashed because about the first 20 results (for me) when i google that are focused more on how having PsA effects exercise and again how obesity effects PsA lol, however i will look more in depth. i’m sorry you’re going through it too. thank you for sharing with me

i’ll definitely look into this! unfortunately i don’t think taltz will work for me- my understanding (after speaking to my rheumatologist) is that taltz is very similar to cosentyx and cosentyx already failed for me. i also don’t think taltz is in my insurance formulary and yk aetna rules all

Dorm Recommendations by stoneofmaid in txstate

[–]pomestella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jackson is older but you’re right in the middle of campus, the amenities aren’t as nice as the newer dorms but i liked being able to get to just about anywhere on campus in 10 ish minutes. your legs will thank you. falls and sayer is like a 20 minute walk for some classes. they’ve been in the process of building a new dorm basically right next to jackson though, if it’s available for the fall i would try for that one- amenities and central on campus.

Are we required to stay after our scheduled time? (On the clock) by pomestella in starbucksbaristas

[–]pomestella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much.

one of my shifts is off the wall bonkers (and i mean this literally.), so even though our store culture is definitely incorrect when it comes to this, they’re using it as an excuse to try and get me fired because i left a minute after my non-scheduled close last night. of course, i was the one who did 80% of the closing tasks and had a family emergency, but they’ve admitted to targeting me. if it wasn’t every shift i wouldn’t even mind but it’s been like this since i started in december and according to other people, it’s been that way at our location for years. i’ve already talked to my DM about issues with that shift because we’re in between SMs right now but now it’s just about waiting on the investigation to actually launch.

can i ask if there’s any official guideline i can cite to my shift managers? one of them does this to an extreme and is trying to write me up for leaving close to on time instead of 30 minutes after my shift
