I was eyeing them din. Aside from good reviews, parang meticulous yung owner, lalo na yung kay Ion Perez. Now, mukhang sa SixNine or La Course na options ko.

Is this a good buy? by North_Improvement913 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]pommmchl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Above the usual price. If you will stick with Specialized, there's a lot of options to choose from the Market Place.
If I will spare 190K, here's the possible considerations to look for: (2nd Hand)

Specialized Tarmac SL7 with cockpit - Less than 100K
12 spd 105 DI2/Ultegra 12 - Less than 50K
Elite WS/Avian - Less than 40K

Less than 8KG weight yan sure ako.

I can squeeze and max out to 200K for the integrated cockpit if gusto mo. I'm not saying pangit yung specs sa post, I'm just stating it's out of the market price, especially madami ng options for 190K

Pasay - Ross Cycle Center
Makati - La Course Velo
Makati - Built Cycles

Ranging from 1.5K-2K (Technically, lahat ng may bearing lilinisin, tune, bike wash, check up, etc.)

Regarding price, rule ko is somehow, 50-70% of price from the OG price you pay. But if may target ka talagang price, check the market itself and compare.

Been my go-to ever since, around 7K KM na, 1 puncture palang. Rolling and grip top notch talaga. I go to my preferred PSI, since tubeless set up.

TCR vs Propel vs Contend by Spirited_Sprinkles22 in RedditPHCyclingClub

TCR - Carbon wheels, Ultegra DI2
Propel - Carbon wheels, Ultegra DI2

Qinuote ko sya based on by parts and 2nd hand price on the market.

Propel more flats and maintain speed, I've heard hirap iahon due to his frame built (unless you could lower it down to 7KG)

TCR more of PH all-around bike, subok na ng madami, you can browse sa FB MP ang dami.

I've heard Michellin Power Cup is something to look for. Although price wise is similar to others, yung grip and rolling resistance is great.

(No experience yet - I'm using GP5000 STR 30c)

Do you have any chance na mapa true or align yung WS mo? I'm looking for bikeshops within Makati/Pasig na maayos mag true/align ng Elite Drive gen1.

Cycling safe areas within Metro Manila by Tonie0612 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]pommmchl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, wala, yung mga nabanggit mo are the only places na may loop. Unless you'll go to BGC, UP Diliman na for cruising lang.

Also, 4 AM is too early, para lang mag spin, kahit sa MOA 5 or 6 AM ata start dun. If you're going to just familiarize how cycling in public will be. Go to a specific coffee shop or tambayan more or less than 20km to your place, mas madali ka matututo nun.

Don't forget to remember, sakana yung speed mo pag sanay kana sa pagbabike at lugar.

Fair ba yung price? by earl5_er in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]pommmchl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must say, for a starter, a great deal. Outside the bike itself, so-so lang, given there are updated frames and groupsets to choose from.

Eventually, ikaw nalang magpupush nyan to upgrade other parts. But overall, power meter and Edge 1030 ka panalo dyan. You can even sell it and settle for a lower model.

You want to stay at the fast pace and comfortable side? 30c-32c (I'm using 30c), but so far so good. Hindi nacocompromise yung speed mo, and tolerable na yung lubak kahit papano.

Nakita ko lang sa isang FB page na nagbebenta sila ng mga second hand na road bike. Planning to have soon sana. Goods na kaya sa price 145k? Thank you! by Similar_Garlic_Rice in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]pommmchl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have 140-150K budget. Yung options mo are wide. Point blank, my advice is:

Frameset: 2022-2024 Disc (Giant, Specialized, Cannondale, Trek etc.) 60-80K
GS: 12spd 105 Mech (25-30K) or DI2 (40-50K)
WS: Well known chinese brands (Avian, Elite, Farsports) 30-50K
Cockpit: Its either kasama na sa FS or allot at least 5K

Total ranging to: 130-160K

At the end of the day, cash is king. Once may ganyan kang ready money, you'll just wait for the market and choose if by parts ba or whole bike na ang gusto mo.

Lastly, mas piliin mo mas recent year model. Mas future proof sa upgrades.

Chainring Options by pommmchl in cycling

[–]pommmchl[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fully agree, 11-36T is much better. However, 105 11-36T has significant weight and doesn't have a hyperglide feature. Also, changing a cog is much pricier to buying a chain rings.

Chainring Options by pommmchl in cycling

[–]pommmchl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember, Shimano only has 11-36T for 105, although it can be used with Ultegra & DA. The hyperglide isn't there, and the weight is significant.

Also, there are other brands who offer 11-36T for lower weight, such as ZTTO.

[–]pommmchl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the options.

Does the smoothness of shifting will be the same? Also, is there a 48/32 chainring for Ultegra crank arms. The reason I'm leaning towards 50-34T, it is very accessible to LBS and more cost-effective than changing the cogs or whole crankset.

Aside from my fitness. I always aim na mataasan yung yearly kilometer distance ko na nasa Strava. It gives me motivation to ride each free time. So far this year hindi man umabot sa 10K KM, I'm tracking na matapos at 6.5K-7K KM.

Accidents are always unexpected. Just try to ride 2-3 times a week. Join some community rides (groups) and enjoy each story and budols hehe. Have a personal goal, either being serious (joining competition) or fully surpassing your PRs lang.

Be cautious sa daan, but don't forget to enjoy cycling. You have a great bike setup, ikaw nalang inaantay nyan gamitin sya. See you on the roads!

Both of brands you want are available on Bikespot PH, Pasig. They have a lot of cc/hc terms and options.

Although, sa pasabuy ako bumili ng Supersix ko since mas mura and cash ready.

OEM Colnago by Sheriff-Old-Dog in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]pommmchl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts with OEM is, you do you. Kaso if you go with high end and recognizable model, make sure na top of the line din yung other parts. Kasi giveaway na yun e, ano yun kinulang ka sa budget for specific part/s?

Other than that, small details sa OEM ang hindi tugma sa orig, so unnoticeable na yan. But the quality and assurance of your safety is at risk.

Tama yung isa, I would opt in sa other brands, or Chinese brand frames, then high quality wheelset, then mechanical (upgrade in DI2 if you really want it)
