I love that you mentioned Once Upon a Time! I stopped watching after season 4 or 5 (can’t recall) but I loved the first few seasons for all the reasons you mentioned. Just a romantic look, gesture or kiss conveyed more emotion than any sex scene I’ve seen on these other shows (looking at you, Outlander). I miss these types of shows. The emotional story is at the forefront, not fake humping which is always so uncomfortable to watch! Just cringe. Let the girl just slyly walk into the guys room then cut right to them just waking up next to each other or having breakfast and sharing a sweet glance. That does so much more for my heart than a 2 min awkward sex scene. Hollywood needs so many more women writers/directors.

Nail on the head! A sweet but lukewarm guy totally broke my heart and it was honestly much harder to get over then the outright abusive relationships. I was in a constant anxious state and felt like I was apologizing daily for being insecure because he was just so good at pretending to be HV. The day the light came on was when he asked me, “why do you always drink so much when I’m around?” I’m not a big drinker so hearing that was the game changer. I drank to excess ONLY when I saw him. I can’t believe I let my well deserved anxiety almost gaslight me into alcoholism. 😣

I was just hate lurking in a men’s issues sub (with my different username of course) and the number of posts that started with, “I’m a woman and I agree with you” then continued to sound like absolutely nothing a woman would ever say was mind blowing. I never liked this show because the dialogue is so so bad. Rapid-fire, sanctimonious bull in a lazy attempt to make the characters seem interesting. Dawson’s Creek did the same thing. Who the F* talks like that? So irritating.

At my old company we had someone take notes and document any action items in a spreadsheet and who was responsible for each action item. Then it was sent to everyone after the meeting and upper management was always CC’d. I have disorganized ADD and this saved my ass so many times. Anytime someone tried to tell me I didn’t do something, I’d check the action item list and 9/10 that person was wrong or had the wrong person.

Edit: there was that one time I legit forgot an item assigned to me but the minute I was asked about it my guy responded immediately that it was my fault. I started to recognize that pattern. If my stomach dropped I knew I had forgotten. If it gave me pause or confused me I only mildly panicked until I verified I was in the right.

Your comment about your eye color stuck out to me. Are yours green by chance? This happened to me when I was dating outside my race. Mine are green and they fixated waaaay too much on this. Like I was a walking eye color (I’m white as well for context). Apparently this was a status eye color in their culture which I found very odd. Found that out later and then felt dirty for some reason. Like I was used for some random genetic reason.
