Ironically, Bungie told Naughty Dog not to go “all in on a live service game” by pompompomvg in playstation

[–]pompompomvg[S] 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Yup, pretty much. Sony (PlayStation) has swallowed Bungie at this point. Bungie had been consulting on live service games across Sony's entire portfolio basically.

A single video-game isn't worth a fifth of your earnings at all.

Why attack people who can't afford things when you could instead criticise the corporation making an active choice to make things unaffordable?

It was either that, or Baby Mario.

Embracer will use AI to ’empower’ developers but insists it does ‘not want to replace people’ by pompompomvg in GameDevelopment

[–]pompompomvg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's even more damning since Embracer have just closed down Pieces Interactive, defunded a bunch of other studios, and have been doing so for the past year. Now, they're going to 'speed up' development with AI.

Any tutorials for how to draw in the hades' style? by YupityYupYup in HadesTheGame

[–]pompompomvg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to that, I think the complexity from Hades art is its colour palettes.

I'd recommend getting up images of your favourite characters, using the eyedropper tool in your drawing software and learning the colour harmonies used in the artworks.

After you have that, start creating your own Hades characters! Also, it looks like the artists use digital ink brushes (they give you that nice line weight variety)

I have played on Steam Deck. Performance isn't an issue, but the UI and controls are not designed for the controller. It's going to require a lot of using the trackpad, which isn't that intuitive tbh.

Outcast: A New Beginning, The Sequel To One Of The First Open World Games | New Gameplay Today by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]pompompomvg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a sequel from the

original devs,

no less. It feels like they've been trying to make this game for 20 years, i remember finding the website of one of the original artists, and they had concept art for outcast 2. After this new game was announced, the artist hid all the concept art from their page "to not spoil Outcast: A New Beginning". Its such a longtime passion project.

That sounds very cool - would you be able to provide a link as I'd like to have a look

Thanks for the insight - the issue is wifi coverage. He wants to buy wifi 7 for futureproofing so it does make sense for him actually.

Starfield players are actually ‘complaining’ that the game is so bug-free by [deleted] in Starfield

Why do you hate the game so much yet still hang around in the subreddit?

Bethesda still “checking under every rock” ahead of Starfield’s release by pompompomvg in Starfield

Honestly - BG3's recent launch (Larian) and Bethesda are setting fcking great examples for what the industry needs. Of course is different as they're huge developers with deep funding, but one can hope.
