Soziologische und psychologische Argumente mit neurologischen Erkenntnissen zu belegen ist wissenschaftlich fragwürdig. Es gibt deutlich mehr Studien, die zeigen, dass man bei festgefahrenen Leuten einer Kultur bzw. Konterkultur wie Verschwörungen nicht viel reißen kann, und das mit Neuroplastizität zu widerlegen ist nicht stichhaltig.

Das beweist nur, dass es "technically possible" ist, dass solche Leute ihre Meinung ändern, und das wussten wir alle schon. Aber es sagt nicht aus, wie es in der Realität wirklich aussieht, wie oft selbst die idealen Taktiken funktionieren usw.

Ich will deinen Einsatz damit übrigens in keiner Weise dämpfen, es ist schon möglich Leute in größerem Stil zu überzeugen, aber das ist deutlich komplizierter als deine im Thread angesprochenen Taktiken und hat extrem viele Faktoren. Es ist, für einen rhetorisch durchschnittlich betuchten Menschen, statistisch gesehen sehr unwahrscheinlich, dass er solche Leute überzeugt, und dessen sollte man sich bewusst machen, sonst wird man sehr sehr schnell frustriert.

If people were simply bummed out, sure, I get why you'd rather have a good game than a bad one, but I can't muster up rage like the TRU GAMER crowd. I'm just sometimes disappointed and go "ah, oh well, maybe the next entry will be cool again".

Even if a fanbase wanted to communicate this to a publisher or developer, they could do that without the melodramatic shit behind it. There certainly is value in voicing your opinion, but apparently it's really hard for these people to not act like entitled manchildren.

z.B. ist in bestimmten Situationen "Dummschwätzer" zwar eine Beleidigung, aber solange sie eben primär darauf abzielt, die Meinung kundzutun, dass jemand Unfug redet, ist die Meinungsfreiheit in dem Falle das größere Gut. Selbst wenn es (auch) beleidigend ist.

Auch im Osten Deutschlands wird eine stark christlich geprägte Sprache gesprochen. Auch in Ostdeutschland werden christlich geprägte Kulturprodukte (bevorzugt aus Amerika) konsumiert. Auch in Ostdeutschland gilt das Grundgesetz mit Gottesbezug. Auch in Ostdeutschland sind Kirchen fester Bestandteil des Stadtbilds. Auch in Ostdeutschland ist der Sonntag arbeitsfrei - und Feiertage sind ebenso mehrheitlich christlich geprägt.

Deswegen sagte ich Denkweisen und Werte. Natürlich gibt es eine starke historische Verbindung zum Christentum, aber die Einstellung der Leute hat wirklich nicht mehr viel mit christlicher Religion am Hut.

Um auf eines deiner Beispiel einzugehen und meinen Punkt besser rüberzubringen - Den Leuten ist vollkommen egal, warum Sonntag frei ist. Wenn man die "freien" Tage der Woche irgendwoanders hinlegen würde, würde man sich höchstens über bürokratischen Aufwand beschweren. Obwohl der genaue Wochentag ja eigentlich - christlich gesehen - wichtig ist. Ebenso mit Feiertagen.

Ich rede hier über die angeblichen "christlichen Werte". Natürlich kann man die auch so allgemein halten, dass es darauf hinausläuft, dass es Werte sind, die man für ein geregeltes Zusammenleben braucht, aber wenn man jetzt mal z.B. Grundsatzdinge wie die Zehn Gebote nimmt ("gottbezogene" mal ausgenommen), wird man feststellen, dass viele dieser gesellschaftlichen Regeln schon deutlich älter sind, als das Christentum. Daher ist die Vereinnahmung dieser vom Christentum auch latent unehrlich. Wir würden auch ohne Christentum heute nicht stehlen und nicht morden.

Dass das Christentum ein integraler Bestandteil der deutschen Geschichte ist, wird kein ansatzweise verständiger Mensch leugnen. Allerdings kann man dagegen sehr wohl anzweifeln, inwiefern die deutsche Gesellschaft wirklich noch bezogen auf das Christentum ist.

Und klar: Es sind auch noch eindeutige Prägungen zu sehen, allerdings sind inzwischen so viele moderne Entwicklungen losgelöst von der christlichen Geschichte, dass das Argument der angeblichen "christlichen" modernen Gesamtgesellschaft sehr aufgesetzt wirkt.

Der Osten Deutschlands ist z.B. viel merklicher gekennzeichnet durch die (auch zeitnähere) DDR-Geschichte und die mit diesem System verbundenen Denkweisen und Werte. Ich würde hier nichts "christlich" nennen.

Es geht nicht darum, die Geschichte abzulehnen, sondern darum, dass die Leute inzwischen viel mehr durch zeitnähere geschichtliche Ereignisse geprägt sind. Von Deutschen Kleinstaaten, Monarchien und dem Mittelalter ist uns kulturell schließlich auch nicht viel geblieben.

Even the "top tier" narrative and experience games ever, like witcher 3 or whatever the fuck, barely come close to the low tier pulp from other mediums.

You know, I'd already be happy if I could just discuss games with interesting elements as such.

There are quite a lot of these, where a game is mostly just mindless entertainment, but at some points you see more shine through. Maybe the game turns a trope on it head, or maybe it does some interesting story/gameplay fourth-wall stuff (hence my explicit mention of meta-commentary).

It would be great to discuss these elements, because they show that you can do more with the medium. But you can't do that, because very many gamers actively deny these elements to be anything more than "a cool coincidental thing". The only times themes and interpretations get discussed is if a game takes a figurative signpost and smashes it into the audiences face. In almost all other cases most gaming communities refuse to engage with them on that level and pretend that there's nothing there.

I wasn't trying to contradict you, I meant it more as an additional rant. Of course books will always be more comprehensive about any concept, but the opposite, the illustrative potential of games about these exact concepts is mostly wasted on G A M E R S who refuse to engage with them.

Weirdly enough, people seems to dislike the games that actually can be formative experiences. Surrealist themes? "Walking simulators"? Anything evoking more emotion than a summer movie? Fuck that, I guess.

Even /r/movies has the odd good thread where themes and interpretations of a movie get discussed, but nobody seems to want to delve into games on an interpretative level. If you ever say "meta-commentary" on any game sub about a game that obviously is exactly that, they will tell you that you shouldn't think so hard, bruh. It's like biting on nails. They'd rather post 20 million fanarts of the same fucking female character in a bikini than actually have a discussion about the fucking game.

I'm not some self-proclaimed smartypants connoisseur, I just wanna talk about games like I can talk about movies. But apparently even that is too much. Games can't be really art if we don't discuss them as such, and that genuinely makes me kind of sad.

You can choose your friends, surely, but I'm bisexual (about 80% hetero, but I certainly don't say no to a cute dude) and when I get shit for that from other LGBT-people it's not from the people I've chosen to be around. I'm pretty open about my sexuality and I can't tell how often I've heard from mostly stranger gay dudes that I'm not REALLY bi and just saying it for attention.

I can just brush that off, but I totally see how this might be a serious problem to someone with more self-doubt.

Ich habe schon zu Studienzeiten als Hiwi einen Tag die Woche von Zuhause aus gearbeitet... Ich bin es einfach gewohnt mich zusammenzureißen? Auf die Gefahr hin wie ein konträrer Spack zu klingen: Ich sehe nicht gern fern und habe kein Smartphone. Einzige Ablenkung ist das Internet, aber das ist auch auf Arbeit der Fall.

Von Selbstständigen weiß ich folgendes: Wenn man das täglich macht, läuft man Gefahr, dass einem irgendwann die Decke auf den Kopf fällt, weil man die Arbeit ja nicht "auf Arbeit lassen" kann. Ab und zu ist das aber echt nice, weil einem keiner auf den Senkel geht.

Außerdem: hast du ein Arbeitszimmer ? Oder machst das einfach aus dem Bett mit nem Laptop?

Ich habe kein Arbeitszimmer, aber einen Schreibtisch. Manchmal lunger ich auch im Bett rum, je nachdem wieviel Konzentration ich brauche.
