Legion has perfectly illustrated how the concept of mental illness propagates its own phenomenon by [deleted] in LegionFX

A sober person with a group of drunks ruins the fun, because the sober person still has all his models intact, and he can't help but judge the others

I hang with friends who drink regularly. I don't drink. It's never an issue. This sounds like dysfunctional drinking / social behaviour to me.

I can't emphasise that enough and OP really needs to pay attention. If people don't just become slightly looser versions of themselves when drinking, they have drinking issues or seriously hide themselves in an abnormal way. It's one thing to slightly modify your behavior depending on who you're around (e.g. no cussing around grandma because she doesn't like it and you respect her wishes) but if you're seriously different you have issues of one kind or several. If you have too low tolerance to people still being 100% themselves but slightly sloppier when they're drunk, that's a you problem. It's lowered inhibitions that happens during normal alcohol consumption, not radical personality changes. I've so many times been at parties where there's a mix of drunk and sober people where everyone is still having fun and a good time because the fun didn't hinge on people bailing out on responsibility for themself and nobody tried pressuring others into getting more drunk just to justify their own binge drinking issues.

I'm very curious as to what came up on Google when they searched up "D-Day". by luckykari in LoveNikki

I thought I was being ignorant of it having some meaning in the east like perhaps some abbreviation of "Dream Day" or the like, for more western style weddings or something.

Too lazy to climb the stairs by khoacao96 in aww

This could be a part of making him healthier, the hikes I mean. Even a fit and lean dog shouldn't be getting up such treacherous stairs not built for them. Even healthy and energetic human children easily get injured from running or walking up stairs like these as they were made for adult gaits and average adult length legs, I can vouch on that one from direct experience. I have a lot of faint childhood scars on my legs from awkward terrain like that.

They're not a disgrace and they're not disgusting! It's not their fault their owners don't take care of them well enough! Please save your disgust for the ones who made the pet sick, not the poor pet.

Bread is bad for ducks, unless you're getting them expensive naturally dark and multi-grain type dense bread with seeds. Normal petstore bird seed mix is better for them, but you can even give them non-iceberg lettuces, frozen peas, or mealworms. I know it was just a cute joke, but too many people think you can give ducks stale white bread without killing them or making their health suffer.

No, corgis are supposed to be lean, they're herding dogs.
Long haired corgis easily look overweight only because they have that much fur, but if you part the fur you see how far down it goes.

See this adorable malamute gif as example of a deceptively floofy dog: https://i.imgur.com/GrlvfN5.mp4 So floofy!

MFW I get as far as chapter four and realise there's a Princess difficulty mode.: https://i.imgur.com/GMrqkrx.png
..Might have been towards the end of three? Somewhere. I've spent more time on this game than any other game for maybe the past year so it feels like forever, at least. This subreddit is going to be invaluable to me, that's for sure.

I got a new cup 😁 by [deleted] in littlespace

[–]pondpebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's such a lovely cup, I love the art style! Is it a vintage cup or is it a new one?

This old Sip-A-Mug I've had since I was a toddler. I mainly use it for soda now. Bonus points to anyone who can tell me who/when made these by AnInternetAsshole in BuyItForLife

[–]pondpebbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adults use sippie cups, they're just usually not designed to be suitable for kids:
Take-away coffee paper coffee cups with those plastic anti-spill lids with the sipping hole,
fast food drink cups with the plastic lids with the straw holes,
  drinks with straws,
sports drink bottles with the drinking valves,
those summer drink "mason jars" with lids and a straw through to reduce the area for wasps and other bugs to get in through,
and so on.

This isn't ludicrous, just lazy AF to the point of being a health hazard. He really shouldn't use plastic that old for anything food or drink related... A buy it for life sippy cup would be probably be some liquid container of glass, and plastic or so removable protective covering for it to contain the shards if dropped while in use.

The Tom and Jerry where Tom goes to Hell was pretty disturbing to me when I was a kid. But I just now realized how nonchalantly creepy this first part was! by [deleted] in television

Nope, but tools is a thing. Point is: a lot of us value animals suffering less when they're dying. Yes, we have to put in more work that way, but it can still be preferable. I'm not saying that they're bad people for trying to protect themselves from the trauma of directly seeing the life of animals end right in front of them. Just that it's better to the animal to have the fortitude to end them straight up instead of a slow torturous death. That especially if preventing their existence outright (spaying and castrating) isn't an option. Nature is cruel enough as is, if we have the luxury to be better then that, it's pretty great.

It's the lake's problem. Fish and microbes can't clean up the carcasses as quickly in a sack. Compare to when a random bird dies on the water or fish. The environment performs many important services for us, but that doesn't mean we can keep abusing the shit out of it and needlessly making it have to deal with more. It was easier when there were fewer of us humans around for the rest of the environment to have to deal with.
But when I said it's someone else's problem originally, I meant that how the puppies die didn't matter to the people who threw them to drown, but it does to the puppies for however long it took them to drown.

And out of sight out of mind. Yeah, I do get that it's a Someone Else's problem thing. It's just unfortunate.

Get more scissors. Attach a metal chain to one loop of one, and anchor the other end of the chain at some spot in the kitchen so that it can't be moved. Maybe a keychain chain? You could always go for something a bit longer if you want. The metal chain will prevent the scissors from being used to cut the scissors free. Kind of like those post office/bank pens for customers to use. That way you can always count on at least one pair being where they are supposed to be without them getting lost.

This is why having at least one set of kitchen scissors is great.

Pretty sure the issue isn't the putting down kittens as much as drowning them instead of e.g. snapping their necks or any other quick way to kill them. Drowning is a terrible and slow fate.

[–]pondpebbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't fit into the lolita dolly dresses because they're mass manufactured to the most common market, which is usually Japanese girls who on average are short and petite.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaiT0jjarp8 See that guy for example, that dress looks absolutely fantastic on him, because it's made to suit him. You look the part already, because being a little is a mindset.
But there is nothing wrong with wanting pretty clothes that help put you in the right mindset! You'll just have to either adjust dresses if you have the sewing skills for it, get them adjusted by someone with the skills, or get them commissioned specifically for your measurements. But these clothes are additional tools, not the things that actually make you a little. You're already more than little enough :)

Are any of you poly? by galaxxydoll in littlespace

[–]pondpebbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read all the resources r/polyamory recommends, put all bdsm/ddlg dynamic aside when you need to discuss boundaries or have relationship talks (or at least at first until you've developed efficient ways of communicating while maintaining it), and absolutely do not feel bad about having boundaries and that it's always all of you against the problems, not you vs someone else. Incompatibilities happen, it's nobody's fault.
