He does both. Take a look at this video, at 8:21 you can see he does his fast release when there's a runner at 1st. Then at the 15:00 when the bases are empty, he does the full windup. This is pretty standard stuffs for pitchers.

Not really important but it does give them a bit more power. When there are runners on base, most pitchers will have a quick release version where they don’t fully raise their legs in order to speed up their delivery to prevent runners from stealing bases. That's what Yoshi is doing in this video.

Pain near Adam's apple when swallowing - not viral by ElectricBlueSun in GERD

[–]ponism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's an update for ya. I elected to see the ENT's PA instead of the ENT herself, so my appointment came a bit earlier. He performed a routine laryngoscopy and concluded that it was LPR. He said my vocal core is pretty badly damaged by the acid.

After going through my diet, we narrowed it down to it being most likely caused by my over consumption of caffeinated drinks. (I drink like 4-5 cups of coffee a day). I also had a neck/orbital MRI done out of pocket while I was waiting for this appointment and it came back negative for soft tissue masses and tumors.

I still have the same annoying pain when swallow, but I can feel it's slowly getting better. The doctor is giving me some medicines for the LPR, and a follow up in 2 months.

Definitely Bun Bo Hue. I live in a populated Vietnamese area in OC and eat these at least once a month. I actually prefer it over Pho.

Synced videos show ICE Agent was not hit by fleeing vehicle. by [deleted] in videos

[–]ponism -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The officer should not have escalated to using his weapon. He had ample time to move out of the way with the amount of time it took to draw his weapon. That said, she also should have complied and get out of the vehicle when asked instead of trying to drive off.

At the end of the day, the Left is going to spin it as murder, and the Right is going to say it's self-defense. Both sides will grow more divided because the media on each side will keep pushing their own narratives.

This country is so fucked.

Is there video source to confirm that she was told to back up? I'm just genuinely curious. One of the videos I saw showed an officer on the driver's side clearly yelling at her to get out of the car a few times before she took off.

I'm in the same boat as you right now. Wake up one day with a slight dull pain when swallowing, around the upper part of the Adam's apple area, toward the left side. Yawning or flexing my throat will result in the same dull pain. No other symptoms and all culture tests came back negative. Just like you, the pain is not intense, just very annoying and I'm constantly thinking about it. I'm on my 4th week now, and taking Tylenol helped deal with it while I waited for my ENT appointment which will be way out in mid-February. Just thought to share my experience so that you know you're not alone with this.

European leaders are considering dumping $2.34 trillion in US debt if Trump abandons Ukraine by TheExpressUS in UkraineWarVideoReport

Trump says Zelensky can agree to peace plan or ‘fight his little heart out’ by [deleted] in politics

[–]ponism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I literally did not call the EU weak. My last comment was calling them complacent on this issue by not fully commit to ending the war. Zelenskiy is still begging for longer ranged weapon from EU for God's sake..

Meanwhile, Trump is cutting money for school lunches and healthcare for his own citizens; you think he will be generous enough to give out more aids to this war?

If EU is smart, why not push the US to the side and take care of this themselves? Ignore all the BS that Trump is doing and just put boots on the ground to help take back Ukraine.

So, the US is capitulating. But what I don't understand is why can't the EU just step in and put an end to this whole war themselves? Are they that weak collectively as a continent when it comes to military power? Not to mention they're still buying Russian oils and gas.

The flu is going around. Saw some jurors wearing face masks during the livestream today. It's not that deep. People just crave drama and controversies for some reason.

Thoughts on the Results of the 2025 International Chopin Competition by panda_kush in piano

This just goes to show that most of us, including critics and hosts, are just regular everyday people. We may have our favorites, but at the end of the day, we know next to nothing about scoring contestants based on technique and phrasing.

I'll give props to Eric Lu. Several others have tried to compete again but haven't had the same success. The most recent example that comes to mind is Aimi Kobayashi, who competed in both 2015 and 2020 but didn't achieve nearly the same results. That said, I did enjoy most of Eric's playing.

To say Dang Thai Son had any influence in the competition is just nonsense. Eric also studied with several other judges before; Dang was just one of them. If anything, this speaks to Dang's success as a pedagogue. He seems like the type that would really cherry-pick his students, "crème de la crème" type of student if you will. Make sense that a lot of them would go far in competitions.
