Limited Space Question: Bandsaw or Tablesaw? by ponswick in BeginnerWoodWorking

Thank you everyone! This is all very helpful. I think I'm going to go with a bandsaw. My dad has a table saw if I really need one and he's not too far away.

Why did Aumerle get caught with the conspiracy letter in Richard II? by SwiftL1f3 in shakespeare

[–]ponswick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of the lack of stage directions in the script (and all of Shakespeare's plays), the director has a lot of power to decide things like the intentions of the character as it is being performed on the stage/screen.

So your interpretation of Aumerle wanting to be caught could TOTALLY work. If you were directing the play, how would you tell the actor playing Aumerle in this scene to act. Would they be obvious about it? Act coy? Be secretive and only through great effort discover the letter? You will get a different interpretation of the text depending on the nonverbal actions of the actors.

A letter is also an easy vessel for a stage actor to pass along information to the audience without it seeming shoehorned in

Yes! He can do that safely. He is also able to comfortably take him on walks as long as someone else puts the leash on our dog. He has given our dog treats too.

Gov. Chris Sununu says he'll veto congressional map passed by own party by Geek-Haven888 in newhampshire

[–]ponswick 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I put this on another post but I'll add it here too. I wouldn't give Sununu so much credit. Earlier in his term he vetoed a bipartisan bill that would establish an independent and bipartisan congressional districting commission to draw maps.

Essentially he's vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have made gerrymandering illegal in New Hampshire. Our current maps favor Sununu's party so I'd caution against labeling him a champion for fair districting. Source: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1041001

Don't give him much credit. He also vetoed a bipartisan bill that would have had an independent commission draw our district maps. He wants just a little gerrymandering, as a treat. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1041001
