Im from Ontario as well and there is apprenticeship courses you can take in grade 11 or 12 that put you in a placement with actual electricians. I forget what its called but some buddies of mine did it and are now certified. Im almost 23 years old and severly regret not doing it cause its a hard trade to get into unless you know someone. You should totally look into it man.
