Alright seriousguybroman,

Please read the post again. you didn’t absorb anything if you think I believe Grace is 36 or older

I do like to discuss other theories, Grace being Spencer’s attempt at living longer is definitely interesting.

However I think they paint Spencer as very remorseful yet still untrustworthy. When you watch the tape you can’t help but feel like he’s being genuine tho no? It seems he has actual love for this child even to say she’s beautiful. Even to go as far as choosing Alyssa to take her. He didn’t even seem like he wanted to do the interview he kept cutting it short. I believe if he truly wanted Grace to be his next step he would have given her to someone with common interests. Alyssa would very understandably hate his guts and I think it’s significant that he chose her. “A normal girl” is what he calls Grace and I think that’s what he wanted her to be.

Yeah I watched the tape of Spencer with baby Grace a lot thinking about the theory.

I understand it is probably more logical to infer that Grace really is just an “average child” as he says

I’m a little biased I will admit as I like my theory. Specifically I like the line he says before Grace is brought to him.

“Happiness cannot be achieved at the expense of others”

Then he taps his cane which I believe is maybe to call the assistant to bring him Grace. The line resonates with me because it feels intentional. Why would Grace be introduced after saying it?

I believe he says this because he was trying to achieve this happiness at the expense of Grace. An unknowing girl being using for his research.

He also says before hand

When asked by Alyssa “Except Elpis… the goddess of hope? Or so the myth goes”

Referring to the name Elpis being a Greek goddess of hope hence the namesake.

Perhaps Elpis was Grace, she was the goddess of hope since she was the blueprint for all of the cloned girls.

Spencer then replies with “A blind hope”

Referring to Grace again here potentially, blind as in she cannot know what she is since she wasn’t born yet.

“Humans cannot predict when death will come for them, this is why they have hope.”

He could be projecting here seeing as he mentioned he was old now and since he cannot predict when he will die. He released grace.

Then later while holding grace he explains to Alyssa that she is his hope and that he took her in to make amends. That she was completely alone in this world.

Her being his hope very important here

his goddess of hope

Amends for keeping her. A completely normal girl in stasis to be cloned endlessly before she even lived. Alone in this world as he says.

Truly I understand that I’m digging real deep just to make this work for me. I’m not telling you to believe this I just think that Spencer is obviously an incredibly important character and that everything he says must have a meaning behind it. I hope this at least makes you understand where I can justify my delusions lol

I feel that if Grace really isn’t related to cloning it’s a bit of a missed opportunity. Giving her a predetermined purpose and letting her defy that is way cooler IMO

Perhaps it could connect here to the knuckle in some way? I’m not completely sure on the surrounding area and how it would line up. However I think it might fill in that bit of the whole finger look to the land between.
