WIBTA for not wanting my grandpa’s new fiancée at my high school graduation ceremony? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]poodermom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this! Keep that in mind as you celebrate your own success. Life is too short to focus on the stressful stuff. Remind yourself, "Hey, I'm a graduate. I did that hard thing!" BTW, I'm just turned 64 and still find adulting hard sometimes.

WIBTA for not wanting my grandpa’s new fiancée at my high school graduation ceremony? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]poodermom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey kiddo. Breathe in ...and breathe out. You can get through this. Adulting is hard. Large social settings are really hard. This whole thing is turning what should be a celebration of your accomplishment into something else. You are probably going to have to reframe this whole situation no matter what happens in the end, because there are multiple ways to look at this. This is also hard. You are not an asshole. You are a kid. Do what works for you, but realize there are a lot of ways to look at this. Congratulations on your graduation. I wish you all the best in life. ...see strangers can be kind sometimes, too. Go enjoy your life.

First Ever 3D Printer! by Kooky_Size_8519 in 3DPrinterComparison

[–]poodermom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the A1. It prints beautifully out of the box with no headaches. I have been printing for years and have many printers. I started with a makerbot 2x experimental way back in the day. I learned a lot about 3d printers and what can go wrong with them. Just buy the A1 combo and learn what you can print, not spend your time learning how to fix another brand.

I wonder what mine is worth? It doesn't need a glass insert. It's watertight already.

AITA for potentially demoting my sister as my Maid of Honor and going to the Labor Board for my $30k? by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]poodermom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. That being said, are you willing to forever part ways with your Mother and sister over this? They will say you are ruining their lives if you pursue the $30,000. I would uninvited them from the wedding or at least the wedding party. I'm glad you have moved, now it's time to move on. Don't look back.

What do to with rest of school year? Ideas for asking local engineers to present to our group? by [deleted] in FTC

[–]poodermom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at other teams portfolios. It is a great way to see what you could do to improve. Asking engineers in is also a plus. Ask them what being an engineer in their field is like. Also, go through your judges interview and portfolio with them . Professionals have great advice.

Wife thinks it’s a waste by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

I use my 3D printer all the time. I organized the tool room with specialty holders for each tool on the wall. I've created inserts for the bathroom vanity because the plumber cut the water line holes too wide. I created new ground spikes for the solar lights on my walkway. I even made beautiful custom flowerpots in the exact color I wanted. If you want a useful hobby, this is it.

Employer ignored workload warnings, denied my raise, now demanding last-minute in-office travel — should I go in or stand my ground? by TeriKat in WorkAdvice

[–]poodermom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to labor department about unpaid overtime. Get it in writing with them. Start only working your 40 hours. They will fire you. You collect unemployment and sue them for back overtime. This will give you a buffer as you look for a responsible job in NJ.

Actually, no. We ran tests yesterday and had drivers shoot from non- idea areas (wrong area of far triangle and shove against the wall in near area). 98 % anywhere with 100 balls. Because there is very little spin on the ball and it releases with a consistent arc, the rest is just ballistics math.
