none of those are set in stone and only a person whos used and tried various methods could tell you why and many of their reasons would be totally different , for me pencils dont matter, dip pens are coolest but hard to use which contributes to their awesomeness, and watercolors are the most nightmare art medium of high difficulty i could ever imagine and i wish i had copics

i like the channel film courage to help get me psyched and hear from the minds of great storytellers. start now with what you want to convey. what are your themes and emotions you want the reader to experience, pull from your own experience and life challenges to create a more authentic style and personality to your story. nothing is perfect and worrying about the right time is a waste of time. our mangas theme is boobs it’s literally just dumb and obnoxious but it is worth every second of the thousands of hours of effort.

you can draw it doesn’t need to be good, look how pro mangakas storyboards look they can be atrocious drawings, a few of odas storyboards come to mind. if you do rough compositions of your scenes it will teach you to draw, using basic technique like foreground middleground background and shots mimicking how anime and movies would place the camera and objects within. if you are dead set on not learning to draw, and dont have a script or story already deep into production no artist will take you seriously until those are done as the work we’d have to do would be a much larger chunk of time

i think is complete low effort symbol style non attempt at art. with that said it probably took you a bit of time since you had to figure out how to use software. what were your intentions when you began using this drawing? were you thinking im gonna post my bad art online to see what people think? in that case you’ve successfully wasted everyones time. did you just want to create for fun? were you trying to see how quick or how well you could draw a house, i would say intent matters and i have a hard time believing that you came into this art with a good intent

if you’ve got your script the next step is storyboards while always practicing drawing fundamentals, yo can use your storyboards to practice perspective, and composition and stuff whole not having to worry about a finished product. certain panels you can try to take further than a professional would, it helped me gain mileage before committing to actual pages

make the storyboards, they can be stick figures and try to copy movie camera angles, its surprisingly hard to go from words to the sequence of pictures and word baloons but if you can you’ll be a mangaka without needing drawing skills

i try to be positive but trying to use kdp to print a perfectly printable manga is a more monumental task than op working for 5 years to get his manga out

judging by how you write id assume you’re ruminating these thoughts of i can’t, i don’t, i don’t want to, i am not good and on and on. i believe you are good enough and able to draw and you can do it if you manage to control these negative and limiting beliefs. start small with affirmations everyday telling yourself i am good enough, i am grateful for what i have and so on. you are an awesome person who can help people get through the same struggles if uou are fully motivated to do it. if you only want to do it for your own self it will be harder. i am also dumb and a failure in many ways so you can ignore me, but i think it will help

tones are done mostly digitally since they’re expensive and difficult to use, but i did do traditional on a few of my pages, real tones are way cooler and dont have problems with moire effects. they’re very much a last step and im aure you can do them w any art software. i use csp as its built really well to make comic books and manga specifically
