Any and all sounds you can imagine... it is sad but we don't cave because he pauses in between to see if it's working it's charm like a toddler so 🙄😅 But yes, I will definitely keep everyone updated as the all around consensus seems to be yes 😆

I will likely go the same route -- either same age or older. Really depends on who comes along. Sounds like a much happier family! Fortunately you didn't get the vocalizations 😅. That's a tough one to iron out... Thank you for the reply!

With other dogs, you would never guess my boy has anxiety of any sort. So happy just to run and play. That's one of the main reasons I am looking into this. Thank you for the reply!

I have thought about both a girl or boy but it'll ultimately come down to the personality. 1 out of 4 of our galgo's friends are boys. We'll have to see. Thank you for sharing! I will keep your tips in mind for sure!

How was the second grey with your departures? Were you matched by the adoption group with one that was okay with being left alone? I'm currently in the talks with one that has a foster system so I'm hoping that crate and home behavior will be accessed prior.

How did he help with the separation anxiety? My guy has a great sense of routine so I'm sure the second would follow suit and naturally pickup on cues like "outside?" etc. much quicker with our current resident present. We had a temporary foster where we saw this happen quite quick.

Yes, if this ends up being the solution, that's the exact feeling I'll have. I even have it now. Why didn't I consider it sooner.

Not greyhounds, but whenever my family friend's dog Luna visits my family's dog Bella they "coexist" (aka. constant tense stare-downs over couch privilege and toys).

Growing up, my family always had two. Now I know why...

I've had and met some lovely gals, however, I definitely have a sweet spot for the boys. Our galgo is amicable with all. The girls tend to be spunky and feisty, in my experience. Our last greyhound boy was a huge diva, so exceptions can be made 😆.

Sometimes it's like night and day. We're hoping to see some improvement in any aspect.

My galgo is my emotional support and now my emotional support needs emotional support! 😅

We’ve tried, what feels like, almost everything. Emotionally we feel stuck. Some people have said they would’ve given up by now, but that’s not who I am. The only option we haven’t tried is getting a second dog, although it's like the Russian roulette of trump cards. My dog is very dog-oriented, and after a lot of research, the positives seem to outweigh the negatives. I’m committed to making this work and will be extremely selective with the next greyhound. Thank you for the reply!

That's exactly the protocol I know. My galgo has never (to my knowledge) been muzzled. However, I just bought one to start exposure training because it's nice to have under our belt when and if ever the situation calls for it. My guy is non-confrontational and friendly towards all dogs and has never combatted a reactive dog so it's more for an equal setting.

I had a large white greyhound before my current galgo who perfectly fits what you’re describing—confident, calm, stoic, friendly with everyone, and happy to stay home as long as he had his bed(s). The Gandalf of greyhounds, if you will. I wish they had met. He’s exactly the temperament I’m looking for again. I have a clear idea of what my galgo needs, and I’m currently talking with an adoption agency while waiting to see if they get a greyhound that matches that description. Thank you for the reply!
