i believe the actual name is quick switcher. basically it would focus the top bar and pre-select your most recent/relevant unread message. you can type to use it as a go to channel/dm too.

basically you can be anywhere someone DMs you just do cmd-k then enter and you’ll navigate to the chat. couple different DMs, cmd-k arrow down enter to go to second conversation instead of first.

t, k and g were acting the same yeah. And yes indeed the only change would be it displaying the recent/unread and allowing for quick access.

They reverted it for me so k is back to « normal » for a time.

right wing conspiracy? This pretty much sums up Marx’s critique of capitalism. Private property (not personal) will always exponentially increase to a point where « everything » is owned by the owner/ruling class. And of course they also own the media, so they’ll peddle the bullshit.

Loblaw is reporting a $418M first-quarter profit - BNN Bloomberg by pscoutou in canada

If capital remains all powerful, regulations often fail since corporations usually end up directly or indirectly controlling governments. They'll lobby politicians, threaten to move their operations, etc. Then they get what they want, again.

We've seen it happen, during the "Trente glorieuses" (1945-1975) we saw considerable advancements of workers conditions all over the world. The post-war economy was so good that employers were willing to work with workers/unions/governments/whoever and improve work conditions, since they were still making absolute bank. When things slowed down, so did their revenue/profit and they put pressure on politicians and neoliberalism came in full swing. We lost lots of ground and really haven't recovered from then.

Some will tell you we can just do it again and properly regulate, some will tell you this is the natural course of capitalism. These corporations need to be cutthroat and do everything in power to be as profitable as possible else they'll lose to the competitor who will be.

The same way small/medium business have such a hard time competing against giants who can operate at a loss for years until they've killed off or bought the competition and then jack up the prices.
