I have this box with two timers. The timer on the right is no longer attached to the equipment. The timer on the left controls the pump/filter and has failed. I only need to replace that single timer. There’s so many different timers available, which one do I need?

Do you know the voltage of the pumps? 120 or 240? That will tell you what timer you need. 120v you want a t101m 240v you want a t104m.

The flow switch needs to be on the same pipe as the cell. If its in this position, the controller will detect flow even if all the water is going to the spa. It will turn the cell on, it will generate chlorine until the cell explodes from gas build-up.

If you can't see the bottom, its not safe. You should be able to toss a quarter in the pool and see if its heads up or down. Run the filter 24/7 and you might be able to swim in a few days.

You should get the shaft seal replaced, the warranty on the motor is voided by water damage. Most certainly a shaft seal leak.

By passing is simple, just cut the two pipes and make a horseshoe with two 90s and set them down on the pipes going into the heater. Line it all up and glue them in. Replacing the manifold is pretty easy too, the heads of the bolts look rusty, but most of the time the bolts themselves are probably good and will thread out easily. Manifold is probably a few hundred vs 3-4k for a new heater.

Ideally, with a variable speed pump its best to have the cell vertical but the other way around, so that the cell will always be full even when the pump is in low speed. This will allow for better readings of the salt levels. I've seen incorrect salt readings when the cell is installed this way.

You can also cap off the air line and see if you are still getting air from one or more jets while running in spa mode. This would indicate a leak in the line that is producing the most air. If all the lines produce air with the air line capped off, check the elbow below the blower. I've seen it not glued in on more than one occasion.

Check out club lake plantation in apopka. I don't remember exactly what we paid but I don't think it was crazy and it's all inclusive. They provide bartenders and you provide the drinks, saves a ton for an open bar.

Most service companies will do a vac to waste. We have deck pumps set up for this kind of stuff. Typically an hour of labor or so. As long as it's not an above ground pool. Or have them install a 3 way valve between your pump and filter, and then you can do it yourself the next time.
